I'd visited the previous incarnation of Corner 124 - Deja Vu - several times. I'd always found it a bit dark and dreary. However the new decor is a winner. We visited for a birthday meal. The menu had a great selection of meals for all kind of appetites. I had the seabass on risotto and my friend had steak. Portions are good and food is piping hot.

Coffee shop, sandwich bar and Deli with tables to sit in or takeaway. Additional seating is available in the Canteen located a little further down the yard.
Fantastic cafe restaurant with delicious food. It was a struggle to choose as everything looked delicious. We had cauliflower frittata & three salads all were tasty and moorish! We managed to find room to share a lemon shortbread which was amazing too. Highly recommend this place. Behind beales store, dog friendly too.

Family ran restaurant set over two floors in the heart of Kendal. Seasonal contemporary food. Open for lunch, pre-theatre and dinner.
Visited several times during my current break in Kendal. The food is consistently excellent and the owners and staff are a joy - so friendly, helpful and welcoming. Highlights have included tangy and delicious mackerel pate, wonderful, melt-in-the-mouth chicken and a sublime fresh fruit trifle. All the ingredients in the cooking are first rate and the value is excellent.

Traditional cafe
Do you need gluten-free? This is the place for you. Practically the whole menu is gf. Take the pies, for instance: so good that non-gf diners compliment the pastry, without being aware that it is gf. And the cakes... The cooking is excellent, the quantity is plentiful, and the service is friendly and swift.Just - go there.

The Black Labrador is a traditional country pub serving home cooked food with all ingredients being locally sourced along with local real ales.
We booked a table for a Sunday afternoon and were initially seated on a very small table so asked to move as we were planning to share starters. The starters we chose were really good, especially the mezze platter with guacamole, hummus and feta salad - but please serve an adequate amount of pitta bread for the volume of the dips! The haloumi sticks were delicious with the cheese still soft - just lovely. Three of us had the Sunday roast - pork for me and beef for two - this is probably where we went wrong as nothing was particularly hot, and the beef was overcooked - it was 6pm so maybe that was the issue as my husband chose a steak with peppercorn sauce off the main menu and his dish was very good. Service was good and we sat in a nice, light dining room. I would eat here again but unless I came actually at lunchtime on a Sunday would eat from the main menu.

This was fine dining with plenty of food. Great service by all staff and the quality of the food was exceptional. Well worth a visit as they have offers on the menu for 2 or 3 courses from a set menu and the food is still freshly prepared.Thank you for your fantastic review of The Greenhouse Restaurant. I have shared your kind words with my teams in the restaurant and kitchen. See you again soon.

Just stopped here on the way back down south, meeting family for breakfast. The full English was excellent; meaty sausages and good bread to tip my beans and egg on top of. Great farm shop next door too which sells a million gins and lots of yummy things. Would definitely stop here again when meeting the Lake District branch of the family.

Charming courtyard cafe, oozing with historic character, serving a modern light cafe menu. You can catch Yard46 at The Factory Tap serving sourdough pizza on Tuesday evenings too ;)
Visit Kendal with my wife on a sunny weekend, and had a lunch! I would recommend this place as its lovely food and service is how it should be! The owner came to our table and ask if everything was okay, our answer was YES! So if you're in Kendal and want a good not average lunch, go to Yard 46,and you will definitely NOT disappointed!
