Another visit and great food and service again. Interesting soup with poached eggs, Moroccan meatballs were delicious and eclair good as always. Not many cafes in this price bracket make their own bread/eclairs etc. They now do sandwiches, very reasonably priced. In fact prices are too low across the board. Our favourite place to visit in Kelso, never had a bad meal.

Friendly coffee shop selling Ringtons drinks. Serving a selection of homemade soups, lunches, scones, cakes and traybakes. Lovely outside seating area.
We were staying in Kelso, but didnât have breakfast included. Just off the square, we found this lovely little place. We had tasty bacon rolls and very good coffee - just what we needed. About £5 each for coffee and a bacon roll.

I am really sorry to write this review as we have been here quite a few times for Sunday lunch, but what I was served yesterday was terrible. We arrived late in the afternoon noon so no turkey left so went for the beef now it was very busy and I except we would be waiting.Well 40mins had passed both drinks had been consumed and I started to noice three tables that sat down after us had received Sunday lunches.I spoke to a waitress she asked what number we had and straight away my beef was in front of me and I just looked at it you could see it had been thrown together my two people on both sides were veg then two lots of potatoes on each side, then beef that was covered in a jelly like grave and cold Yorkshire. My this time I was really hungry and started to tuck in the veg potatoes but I just couldnât get my knife through the beef my husband was laughing as I was shaking the table once cut through came the job of chewing chewing and chewing I gave up.I did look round to see if anyone else was having the same issues and yes people trying to cut into the meat or just gave up like me.So sorry but what went wrong today?Thank you for taking the time to leave a review of your experience; I was disappointed to read that you did not enjoy your meal on this occasion. We aim to give first class food and service and I am sorry that this is not what you experienced. Please rest assured we take measures to address problems and prevent future occurrences. We appreciate you sharing your comments and I would appreciate the opportunity to speak to you personally about your visit. The Waggon, in Kelso, located centrally in this charming historic Border town. A treat awaits within, with excellent fresh food offerings, at great value for money prices, available both in our restaurant and comfortable bar/seating area.Owned & operated
We have been here quite a number of times, the staff are always friendly and welcoming, our experience is mostly for lunchtime food, it can get busy in the evenings. The menu changes regularly, and there are always daily specials available, food is home produced and always comes out hot and freshly prepared. Take a healthy appetite when you go, we didnât have room for pudding.
