Ignore the negative reviews, this is a small village store, does the basics. Milk, bacon, bread (etc) papers, excellent coffee and freshly baked savouries. Owners and staff are friendly and welcoming and always seems to have a mix of locals and tourists popping in. Itâs a shame itâs on the market but I can imagine itâs a tough trade to be in...Thank you for coming to see us and your lovely comments xx

At Wells next the Sea and Holt. We serve a very informal but very good breakfast, lunch. Coffee, cake, sandwiches, soups and panini. Pasties and breakfast muffins. Milkshakes, smoothies and iced coffees. You can take away or sit in and rest all year round
We had a lovely family lunch here with our dog which was given a dog treat, We all had the bowls of noodles which were very tasty but we would have preferred less water and more vegetables as they were quite awkward to eat. The service was excellent, very helpful and friendly.

The restaurant you can eat under the ceiling of the massive eighteenth-century oak barn or, if it's warm, amongst the flowers in our garden, a place of serenity and calm that's good for the soul. The Butchery All of the Angus-sired beef, lamb, chicken, ge
Why, oh why do quality restaurants serve toast piled up and not in a toast rack?We called in for breakfast ( whilst on hoiday in the area) and the menu seemed very comprehensive, but, having eaten very well the previous evening opted for simple scrambled egg. The egg was beautifully creamy but it arrived on the top of one piece of toast, which was on top of the second piece - both therefore a bit soggy. The menu for Specal week of dining in Norfolk ( last wk of Oct ?) looked very good and reasonably priced. We fully appreciate the feedback, a slightly tricky one to amend as most expect their eggs on the toast. Will look into it a bit further.Norfolk restaurant week is very popular and does represent excellent value, so strongly advise booking.

Set in rolling countryside in the heart of Norfolk. A traditional village pub run by multi-award winning chef Ben Handley, his wife Sarah and their team.
Partner had panzanella salad, which seemed to be a plate of cheese dotted with occasional tomatoes and croutons. Lacking in salad leaves. My aubergine with dukkah was tasty but could have had some accompaniment to break it up. Overpriced and pretentious. Service was also rather arrogant (look of horror when asked for sweet chilli sauce).

We really enjoyed our visit for Lunch. The seafood was superb - really good indeed. The atmosphere and staff were very welcoming. Lovely table by the log burner. Prompt service. Nothing to fault. Packed out so clearly popular. Definitely recommend and hopefully will eat again here in the future.

It looked like a lovely cafe with outdoor seating. The drink arrived and unfortunately the glass was dirty so I said to the waitress "I'm sorry my glass isn't very clean". She was polite and friendly- apologised and took the glass away. Then my prawn sandwich arrived. It didn't taste right and the prawns were old and chewy. I took my plate in and again said to the waitress "I'm sorry but these prawns don't taste right" she offered to make me another prawn sandwich which I politely declined as I felt they would all be from the same batch. She then called over the owner who said "You're the one who complained about the dirty glass! I've had plenty of people eat those prawns today so there's nothing wrong with them!" Not the wayyou expect to be treated as a customer parting with their hard earned cash.If you want rudeness, old prawns and a sore tummy then Horatios is your cafe!I personally prefer the friendly approach with delicious food and so will be returning to my favourite - Wells Deli in Holt.

We werenât charged for them when they finally arrived howeverThey donât sell Diet Coke but do have a selection of other low-cal drinksOverall, this place is quite expensive but is a very pleasant experience. I was debating between 4-5* but I would recommend it; you get what you pay for. A great stop off along the A148.

Morston Hall is a privately owned, intimate country house hotel on the beautiful north Norfolk coastline. Dating back to the 17th century, the house has been transformed by owners Galton and Tracy Blackiston over the past two decades with a collection of
My wife was excited to have been booked an afternoon tea at Morston Hall for her 60th birthday. However, on ringing up to book she was informed by the receptionist that dietary requirements such as dairy intolerance or a gluten-free diet could not be catered for. My wife spoke to the Receptionist and explained that it was a dairy intolerance rather than an allergy and that she could eat butter, cheese and baked goods such as scones, but could not eat cream, crème fraiche etc. The receptionist then spoke to the chef and they agreed to take the booking and make some minor adjustments to the menu. On the day, the butter in the sandwiches was substituted for soya spread and the cheese for avocado. Ironically, as previously outlined, my wife could have eaten both of these. However, the salmon sandwich still contained crème fraiche, and she had to resort to scraping the cream out of a profiterole. When asked if it was possible to substitute the passion fruit and yoghurt dome, the response was, and I quote, âWe donât cater for dietary requirementsâ. The conservatory is a pleasant setting for afternoon tea, the waitress was very attentive, and the scones were the lightest we have ever tasted. I find it very disappointing though, that this restaurant is unable to adjust its menu to suit dietary needs when I have always found other establishments to be incredibly accommodating.
