Upon arrival we were greated by a friendly and inviting smile.The attention to thier guest was second to none. The food was outstanding, my wife and myself have eaten at some top restaurants in Leeds, and this one is way up there.Fine dining at a very high standard.

Nice to see all the bags of so called fresh chips stacked up outside in the sunshine at 8 15 am restaurant opens at 11 30.Cant they be bothered to peel potatoes to make fresh chips?. Not a proper fish restaurant without proper chips,expected more from Deep Blue, shame on you.Hi there! I do apologise about this we did have an issue with our supplier that day, which has been dealt with.Did you know that nine out of the ten best Fish and Chip Shops in the UK use pre packaged, ordered in chips? Set alongside the wonderful Helmsley Walled Gardens, The Vine House Cafe serves superb coffee and delicious cakes. The lunches are also superb. The Cafe is dog friendly and the staff very friendly. Having tried numerous Tea Rooms in the area, this one is the only one we came back too for a second serving! The Gardens and Cafe are a hidden gem and people do not know what they are missing if they have never been!

We popped in to the tearoom while visiting Helmsley, there are loads of places to eat here, but after looking about we settled on here. As you would expect they have an extensive range of tea's on offer, the Earl Grey and blue flower was a good choice. The food choice is also good, we settled on the sausage roll platter which was well presented and very tasty. The service was good and the staff are very pleasant.

Chose the Carvery for Sunday lunch Choice of meat was extremely rare beef, pork or ham Vegetables were over cooked to the point that the food was very difficult to eat with a fork The chef serving the carvery was very miserable Service was slow in the dining room Only one person working the bars and the waitress who took our order etc was pleasant however we were not offered pudding or coffee So we paid the bill which we thought was very expensive for what we had eaten then left as the flies were annoying Won't be going backGood Morning,I'm saddened to read your review. Weâve dined here a few times over the years & enjoyed it but our most recent meal was absolutely outstanding. All dishes were really tasty & perfectly cooked. Fantastic, friendly service too. The wigwam setting is novel & cosy. And itâs terrific value.

Lunch during a day out for four friends. Slight disappointment at first as one our first choices was out of stock but after that it was all good news. The staff were friendly and helpful, the furniture was substantial and comfortable and there was a choice of indoor or outdoor eating. Staying indoors we were delighted with our meals. The two ladies had tuna sandwiches which had a generous layer of fish on fresh, thick wholemeal bread. They were very pleased to note that the accompanying salad was a âproperâ salad with lovely tasty iceberg lettuce with crispy shredded carrot (thankfully, none of those awful limp, floppy âleavesâ that restaurants seem to serve up these days. Thank you Castlegate for keeping up standards and not trying to be trendy. The other two dishes we had were both steak pies. Fantastic! The pie was a complete round pastry case (so many places serve up a casserole with a lump of flaky pastry on top and call that a pie. The pastry was a delightful, light crumbly shortcrust that melted in the mouth and the pie was filled full with tender chunks of beef in a rich, thick sauce. There was a separate small jug of gravy to pour that was also thick and rich in flavour. The accompanying chips were chunky and plentiful. Portions of everything were generous. Iâve noted one or two reviewers have commented they thought the Castlegate was expensive but they cannot have compared the prices to other establishments in the area. We found the Castlegate to be very reasonably priced with good quantities and nice service. Thank you Castlegate, you do a great lunch.

Every year we arrange a motorcycle event for all bikes manufactured before 1930.This year's event was held at Beadlam grange.Absoluteley brilliant event and probably our best, the staff and owners were really helpful and the food was amazing. All of our entrants were amazed how well organised the staff were , the parking arrangements were brilliant and spacious. Everyone had a great day, we all look forward to next year at Beadlam grange

Having been here before and had an excellent meal, it was so good we decided to go for a light lunch...however our waitress Natalie did point out that they were doing roast beef again now that summer was over and that it was lovely.She wasnât wrong! It was lovely! The beef was tender and pink, the Yorkshire pudding was perfect, the roast vegetables including Jerusalem artichokes were amazing, everything was perfect, plenty of gravy and horseradish.Really great Sunday lunch with friendly service from Natalie.We will definitely return.

Been a long time getting here - always hearing good reviews but somehow never got round to visiting. We werenât disappointed. Dined as a foursome, with some reservations regarding another âtastingâ format but we were just bowled over by the fresh flavours, well thought out menu and stunning presentation. We opted for the shorter menu, which worked out well but certainly would be tempted try the longer one on another occasion. It is a dining âexperienceâ, you are in no way rushed through your meal (no two hour limit in place here, which so annoys me in a number of expensive restaurants these days). In fact would recommend eating earlier so you can sit back, relax and enjoy your food to the full. Service is well balanced, relaxed, pleasant and informative as regards each dish. We all left on a high having had a great evening - no ifs or buts.
