We are proud of our reputation for great local ales and have an amazing regular following, who are not only responsible for the wonderfull lively atmosphere you will find at the Old Hall, but also for allowing such an extensive selection of traditional ha
We loved it. Went there for a weekend and took the train to Chinley. After that a 10 minutes walk to the hotel. Friendly and efficient staff. Make sure to book a quiet room. Ask for walks from the inn; they have maps for easy to quite strengthening walks. Have your food in the restaurant. Good choice of food and wine by the glass. Breakfast is a buffet where pre ordered hot breakfast can be added. Thank you for your visit, we are pleased you enjoyed your staff. Rosie Lee is a tradition tea and coffee room located in the heart of the Peak District. We took over Rosies in August 2016 and maintain their high standards. We cater for vegetarians, vegans and gluten free diets. All food is prepared fresh for you so at
We have always loved the food at this cafe and travelled a long way to enjoy it. However, I have to say that last time we visited on our way over to Lancashire, we went out of our way to call in for breakfast. Although the cafe had been open 45 minutes before we arrived, the place was freezing and the radiators were cold. We kept our coats and scarves on, but the owner didn't take the hint, until his partner came and switched some wall heaters on. By that time it was too late for us and we couldn't wait to get into our warm car!! The new owners have kept the same concept as the previous owners, apart from the temperature in the cafe!! Will certainly not be trekking to Rosie Lee's again.

A country pub in the Peak District serving hearty meals with real ales, continental lagers and great wines in a setting bestowing a 18th century inn now with en-suite bedrooms.
The Lamb Inn lies on one of possible routes between Derby and the north. Our confidence in the place is such that we like to build into our trip a meal there if the time of day suits us. Sometimes it does. Sometimes it doesn't. Whenever we do call in, it always pleases. The standard menu is broad and interesting, the prices reasonable, the quality of the cooking first class. And there is home made bread too. It is also comparatively peaceful, friendly, welcoming and relaxing: just the place to have a break under modern motoring conditions. I always come away pleased, and my most recent visit was like that too.

Our menu includes great pub classics, a range of specials, pie menu, sharing platters, light bites plus hot and cold sandwiches. Sunday roasts a speciality, including vegetarian option. Don't miss our amazing puddings either! Steak night with 2 for 1 and
We stopped here for a meal last Saturday night, my wife - who is gluten intolerant, was very well catered for - although the Hotel didn't have a GF menu as such, the waitress went to the kitchen and came back with a list of the food options possible for my wife - having discussed with the chef. If only more restaurants could do this? When the food came it was superb, and we also enjoyed the very lively atmosphere in the Hotel.Large car park to the front.

This is everything you would want from a cafe. Perfect food and drink, the friendliest staff, a wide range to choose from especially the cakes, and practical if you are walking, cycling, or just driving past.Nice little touches, including the jar of dog biscuits for our favourite friends.

Last Sunday of the main tourist season and it was packed, spilling out onto the pavement seats outside, just shows you how popular the place is. Busy yes, but it didn't stop the friendly staff serving up an excellent array of food and beverages. Number 1 choice next time we're in the area.

We have a traditional bar area with a good selection of draft and bottled lagers, beers and real ales, a selection of wines and spirits. Our cosy snug area is for anyone wishing to relax and unwind on our comfortable Chesterfield sofas, with a log fire pr
We regularly visit here as a family for food as it is well priced, reliably tasty and the portions satisfy my husband's larger appetite. The service is always friendly and the surroundings are nice with beautiful views from the terrace. My only suggestion - make good use of some of that fantastic land behind the car park with some good quality children's play equipment and make yourself a family destination! Its so lovely when someone who visits regularly takes the time to write a review, thank you we really appreciate it. We would love to put a play park in the grounds and have looked into it with a few options but with health and safety and insurance costs its really is not viable.

Millieâs Hayfield, a traditional tearoom set in the Peak District in the heart of the beautiful village of Hayfield. We serve breakfast, lunch, cakes, bakes and hot & cold drinks. All food is prepared, cooked and baked on site. Pop in for our full English
We have ate at Millie's several times, whenever we visit Hayfield. This is the first time since new ownership. We waited 50 minutes for our breakfast to be cooked. Delicious when it arrived, but we waited far too long. I had drank my coffee and had to order a second, by the time our breakfast was served. And the tea room wasn't busy. It seems as though the young chef worked alone, and we were so hungry by the time it arrived. The young waitress lacked experience, there was very little communication from her. Not her fault, I think she needs an adult to work with her. Not the experience we are used to from Millie's.Hi Stansnana,Thank you for your review. I apologise that you had to wait the time you did for your food. Our chef at the time was very experienced so I am surprised that she struggled to get your order out in time and for this I do sincerely apologise. Unfortunately she is no longer here with us and thus I am unable to investigate why there was a delay. As for the waitress, she has been with us a few months and is 18 - but I appreciate she does look a lot younger :) generally speaking we do have 'adults' around and we have a system in place for all staff to request additional support within the tearoom so I do apologise this was not done. However, I will speak with her with regards to letting customers know if there are any delays, and keeping them updated.Once again I do apologise that the service you received was not up to the normal Millie's standards and I will ensure that we work towards the high level of service we expect for all our customers.Kind regardsRukiya

If you havenât been here for a while itâs definitely worth going. New owners have done a great job with the refurb. Most importantly the food is amazing with lots of choice. The staff were incredibly friendly and very welcoming. Definitely need to book as itâs very popular and they have to turn people away !

Modern gastro-pub serving ethically sourced, seasonal food alongside local real ale, craft beer, wines and seasonal cocktails
Tonight my friends and I had the most delicious dinner at The PackHorse in Hayfield. Attentive staff, delicious wine selection and truly amazing food. We all had scallops to start followed by the beef and smoked chips- all cooked to perfection. The peppercorn sauce was incredible! Canât recommend this place enough, we are so lucky to have such a gastronomic delight here in Hayfield. Great pub ambience with city quality restaurant food- the best of both worlds. Thank you for a great evening.
