Reviews on British food in Hammamet, Nabeul Governorate, Tunisia. Sunbathing, al fresco dining and late-night discos are a way of life in Hammamet, the Tunisian St-Tropez. Located on the fertile Cap Bon Peninsula, about 40 miles south of Tunis, the bayfront resort is surrounded by verdant hills and citrus groves. When not basking on Hammamet Beach, browse the markets for local pottery or wander through the medina (old city) with walls that date to 1500. Summer brings festival fever to the city with plenty of music and theatrical offerings.

This is a lovely restaurant and it saddens me to see it so empty due to the declining tourism within Tunisia. The steak I have to say was the best steak I have ever eaten, at an excellent price. There was eight of us all drinking and the whole bill came to something like £140! Was a relief to get out the hotel and have a decent beer. However I will say that they need to sack the man who canât speak English working front of house. He does absolutely nothing and letâs the young girl run around silly. Heâs useless and draining the businesses resources. Hope management take that comment on board and do something with it! X

The Rovers Return has now moved to just inside the gates of Splashworld Venus Beach. Same owners as before, just a change of location. This little restaurant is genuinely one of the nicest places my partner and I have had the pleasure of eating at home or abroad. The owner and staff couldnt do enough for us, went out of their way to make sure everything was how we wanted and made not just us, but everyone who goes there feel very welcome. The steak was beautiful, so nice we ate it both times we ate here in the evenings, the garlic bread was fab and finding a proper cooked brekki with bacon made my partner so happy Oh and finding proper Smirnoff vodka after trying to drink the all inclusive stuff at our hotel made me so happy Cant recommend this place enough, will 100% visit again went we return to Tunisia.

Walked past this place a few times and decided to give it a go and was pleasantly surprised. The menu wasnât the widest of choice but there was enough to chose from to have a good mealWe chose the local specialty of âbrickâ, which is basically filo pastry with a filling and an egg, deep fried and their version of moulds mariniere. Both were delicious and the muscles portion was huge! Both went for the filet with Gorgonzola which was equally delicious.Service was attentive, with the waiter spontaneously busting out into song!Reasonably priced and well worth a visit
