A family run restaurant aiming to provide good homemade food using the freshest of local ingredients
Our walking group had a short time to wait for the bus after a very wet walk from Eyemouth and descended on the Cove for hot drinks. We had very little time but the staff rose to the occasion wonderfully and we all (about 18 of us) managed to get a welcome coffee/tea/hot chocolate/ toasted teacake in the short time we had available. And all served with a smile! Many thanks.Hi Christine,Thank you for your review! I'm glad you enjoyed everything and that you were able to get something in a limited time period. We hope to see you again next time your walking group is in the area.

First confession was that it was the first place that looked like it would have a free clean toilet. Putting that aside; it was a really friendly place that has spent a fair bit on some internal decoration to encourage 'folk' to rest a while. After apologising for ordering the peppermint tea I was tempted to indulge in a Border Tart; don't worry I only got the chance to eat half of it. Nice people, good facilities , well appointed and a nice little view onto the harbour.

We checked the website and Facebook page for this place, opening time 3pm they both said. We arrived about 4pm to a handwritten note on the window......closed 15 & 16th Feb. We had driven a fair distance to get there so, we were not happy to find it closed. This is the second time we've tried to visit & both times it's been closed. Surely not a good way to run a business. We will definitely think twice before trying this place. Not happy

We had booked a couple of rooms at The Ship`s Quarters, which are surprisingly ABOVE The Ship restaurant. They share the same commonality in that they are BOTH meticulously clean, with decor that is SO in keeping with the quayside location. It/they have every mod con but with a cosy welcoming feel about them. Initially there was no room for us, a family of Mum, Dad, daughter and two Granddaughters , to eat. We thought we would have a drink at the bar and then make our way elsewhere, however, in the meantime, the lady who we had spoken to in the dining room, made the effort to find us, and let us know that if we wanted to wait where we were for fifteen minutes, they could arrange to seat us for dinner. We did and the whole experience was absolutely lovely, Dad being the lucky one, and grabbing (age before beauty) the last fresh scampi that Andrea had peeled that very afternoon. The rest of us had fish n chips, (little one Mac n Cheese) ALL prepared and served so beautifully in an atmosphere that is was a pleasure to dine in. It was a stop over to save the children a long drive from Notts to St Andrews and one of the best chance finds that we could have got.

This cafe is right on the harbour and very atmospheric. We sat outside and were lucky to go on a quieter day - it can get very busy. The food was lovely and one of our party had the cullen skink which they said was delicious. Definitely a place to visit and in such a lovely little coastal village which you should take the time to walk around

Having seen the good reviews on trip advisor, we stopped off tonight for dinner. Great menu choices, reasonable prices and great bar prices. Our choices were Homemade Lasagne and Seafood Platter. 10/10 for both meals. Great portions, very fresh and tasty and very good service. The toilets were exceptionally clean. We hope to visit again.
