A proper English country pub that oozes old-fashioned charm, low-beamed ceilings, wooden farmhouse tables and cosy fireplace.Overlooking a pond with an attractive church on its far bank and the public golf course beyond, the pub does indeed have a village
This has got to be our favourite local for a Sunday roast. We usually chose the second sitting at 3 as that suits us better. Everything is great and fresh and your plate is not piled high. We have also been here midweek with friends for lunch. All in all a great little pub which now has a great lunchtime menu.

Make sure you book in advanced to avoid disappointment as this place is always busy! With both and outside area for the summer and an inside section for the colder months you can enjoy this amazing food at any time. The manchego cheese with red onion is my favourite. Amazing service, the girl serving us was so lovely and we found out it was her first day! Good job and great food!

A great independently run restaurant. Been here several times for breakfast after a recommendation from a friend and will be going again. Am always made to feel very welcome especially when I had only been the once the man remembered Iâd come before with my Dad. Very casual feel suitable for all whether you want food or just a drink. A good choice of food and am yet to try the fresh cakes. Iâve had the full English breakfast and also the sausage and egg butty. Have enjoyed every meal. Love the freshly squeezed orange juice too.No need to book, just turn up. Some seating outside too. Thereâs on street parking or Waitrose where you can park. Would definitely recommend.

We wanted No 97 to be a reflection of us - We love the fact we are guided by the seasons, our travels and our experiences. We all have strong roots with the country and the city, so thought it natural to combine the best of both worlds - the innovation an
Went on a busy Friday early evening....positives would be very smart, buzzy and the staff were friendly. However, the food was extremely disappointing...pure style over substance and some very strange combinations that simply did not work. My beetroot starter was an odd mixture of beetroot cubes, no green leaves, a couple of different cheeses, a walnut...all served dry...did not work. The main guinea fowl tasted like cheap rubbery chicken and had been dried out under a hot lamp for too long (broccoli thermo-nuclear). Basically everything looks great, but the actual quality (on a very limited small menu) is very poor. Will not be returning

I first came to Wags when it first opened and left it a 5* review then but itâs just gone from good to better. The food is fabulous - such a yummy range of veggie and vegan. The vibe is always buzzing - itâs pet friendly, baby friendly, sports friendly - basically successfully covers all bases from brunch until night time. Usually come on weekends but my Wednesdays would not be complete without my standard hot/cold chocolate made by the lovely Edward & Dario. Wags definitely deserves the multiple awards it has won!

José Pizarro The Swan Inn is the fourth restaurant in José Pizarroâs repertoire. The Surrey pub in the town of Esher has a typical British pub feel, but in true José style serves delicious Spanish classics using the best Spanish ingredients alongside loca
We came, we stayed. Weâre regulars at Pizarroâs Bermondsey joints and were wondering what on earth he was thinking setting up out here. The photos on the website donât really do the place justice. The pub is really cute and the immediate surrounds are so verdant and tranquil, that itâs hard to believe you are so close to the smoke.A pub with tapas seems an odd concept, but as soon as the food started to arrive, it stopped being odd. A couple of British pub staples have been retained like fish and chips. Mercifully there is no sign of that that pub classic known as âthe vegetarian optionâ. Instead thereâs a lively mix of Spanish dishes that happen to be suitable. We shared the gordal olives, pan con tomate, tortilla de patata, mushroom croquetas (yum!!), a dish of carrots, blue cheese and seeds; a lovely stew of white beans and spinach, all served by friendly and enthusiastic staff who appear to like their jobs. The carnivores fell on the lamp chops like locusts. Between 4 of us, we levelled a bottle each of the JP own brand red and white as well as a bottle of a nice light dry rose, finishing up with a nice take on sticky toffee pudding (something I donât normally like, but I like this version), a zingy citrus posset and a cheeseboard, lubricated by a glass each of Jorge Ordonezâs lovely moscatel. I couldnât fault it. In common with the Bermondsey hostelries, the place is very convivial and the food supports rather than upstages this. Itâs simple, delicious, informal sharey good food that oils the wheels of the good conversation and merriment, which is everything that good pub food should be. Pizarroâs tortilla de patata and pan con tomate are strong contenders for my death row meal â not that Iâm planning to be a mass-murderer. Itâs hard to find tortilla this good outside of a Spanish home.Someone else picked up the tab and wouldnât tell me how much it was lest I insist on chipping in, but didnât look unhappy handing over their card, so Iâm guessing the bill was not a source of alarm. We rolled merrily into bed in one of the B&B rooms and slept like logs. Iâve posted this separately on the B&B site.

A modern European restaurant serving breakfast, brunch & dinner.
We had brunch here a couple of weeks ago. The eggs Benedict were cooked to perfection. The service was exemplary and the atmosphere was relaxing and chilled. If I lived closer, I would visit regularly but Cornwall is a bit far to travel every Sunday! Many thanks to Ollie who served us - nothing was too much trouble. He is a credit to the Seven Bluebirds.

Fine Dining
Very disappointed to see a couple of poor reviews here because we were delighted with our first visit here. The friendly and very knowledgeable personal service from the owner was delightful (although to be fair her very foreign and very young waitress was a little out of her depth). Her husband in the kitchen has some serious skills in both preparation and presentation, and his previous experience with Leith and Ramsay shines through. For a 2 rosette restaurant prices are sensible for the quality offered, especially the wine flight accompanying the tasting menu at only an additional £20 which represents excellent value. Above all for us, as experienced diners, it was particularly refreshing to be served by someone with good personal knowledge of her menu and its ingredients, and of her wine list. We did test her on both of these and were impressed with the accuracy of her replies. When I queried her recommended dessert wine the offer of a free glass was a very nice touch.A nice little family run business with a serious attitude to their craft and well deserving of their 2 rosettes. Highly recommended.

The Hare and Hounds in Claygate is a lovely friendly village pub, offering great English and French food, ale and wine. We have a wonderful outdoor dining terrace, safe family garden. Our dining room also makes the perfect Private room for special occasio
Nice Sunday roast, everything was delicious. Only thing Iâd say that disappointed us was our starters that seemed to be bought in, not made on site. Mozzarella sticks in particular seemed like something youâd get in McDonaldâs. But service was efficient, our large dog was very welcome and Sunday lunch set menu a reasonable price. Hi Nanny10418Thank you for your lovely comments. The Mozzarella sticks were brought back briefly due to customer demand but I agree with you and they are now not available or on the menu except on request by those that enjoy them.hope to see you again soon.Kind regardsNick

The Wheatsheaf is a smart community pub with great fresh food where eaters and drinkers alike are looked after with the same friendly and professional service. Friendly, independently-owned and individually-styled Casual enough to be comfortable, smart en
The Wheatsheaf is part of the Pearmain Group which is a collection of 8 pubs located in Surrey & South West London. All (I believe) have Gardens which is great for an Al Fresco eating experience. The Menus are all virtually identical so if you like the Wheatsheaf food the other 7 would appeal.Given parking can be challenging in Esher this has Pub has a large Car Park, although at busy times it can fill up alarmingly quickly.Itâs also Dog friendly, and as we went with friends with hounds, I can testify to a great Doggy experience!Weâre au fait with the Menu and werenât let down plus there are always Specials so ask to check this out if not volunteered when ordering. The experience was very good although as it got busier there was a distinct correlation between waiting times which towards the end was a little disappointing.Waiting forever to get the Bill is also not good. The ambience is very buzzy and itâs tastefully laid out.Pearmain Pubs deliver a consistent experience and The Wheatsheaf didnât disappoint.
