The rooms are large and comfortable and the huge beds are exceptional. There are a few minor repairs which need to be attended to, such as rails coming loose in the bathroom. The heating could not be turned on, and the rooms were quite cold at night (although it was supposedly summer). There is no elevator, so you have to haul your luggage upstairs. It is a gracious and lovely place, which with a few improvements and attention to detail could be really outstanding.

Visited here with a friend for lunch and although he enjoyed his burger my sandwich was not great I had cheese and pickle sandwich with the white bloomer bread and the bread did not seem fresh it was dried up and hard and when I picked it up it fell to bits I haven't eaten here for quite some time but always enjoyed the food in the past but not too difficult I would have thought to make sure bread is freshHello,I am sorry to hear your visit on this occasion wasn't up to our usual high standard.I hope you do visit again and if any issues do arise, please let this be known to one of the team who will do their best to sort it out for you.

This cafe is located within the Beaver Travel Agency building. There is a good range of snacks, lunches and even a cooked breakfast 9 to 10.30 am. Service was quick and friendly, prices were reasonable and we enjoyed our cuppas while sitting on comfortable seating watching the world go by on South Street, Elgin.

Cafe Kombucha, Elgin's first ever vegan / plant-based cafe. Opened in November 2018. Follow us on Facebook for updates, news and special offers. Website on its way!
We've been to this original and relaxed little cafe several times for tasty lunches so thought we would try evening meal (open Fri/Sat eve) and we weren't disappointed. We had mushroom stroganoff with quinoa which was great, followed by cake/cheesecake, both very good. We aren't vegan but find the food delicious as well as healthy & different from anything else in Elgin. Good value too.

A couple on a two night visit. Well appointed rooms. Efficient over the bath shower. Good quality bathroom fittings. Restaurant menu fairly extensive and reasonably priced,.One minor caveat: stairs to be negotiated may be difficult for those with mobility issues.

My eldest son with his wife and daughter took me to breakfast here in the café section. I was pleasantly surprised as I haven't been before. The food was great and the staff was very friendly. There was a small area for my grand-daughter to play. I plan to go again and try the restaurant.

Nestled down a medieval close (a Scots word for alleyway) in the historic centre of Elgin lies The Drouthy Cobbler, a bar-café focussed on good drinks, honest food, conversation and community. The Drouthy has firmly established itself with a reputation fo
Wow. Found this place down a side alley and dropped in for a quick drink. Real ales on tap and the food menu was exciting. Had an early dinner and it did not disappoint. Pork Belly starter and then Mussells in white wine and garlic and a veggie burger for my wife. Some of the best food of our Uk trip so far.

We were recommended Johnstons after a visit to Elgin Cathedral. The restaurant was very busy but the staff were exceptionally well organised, very friendly and very helpful. A great atmosphere with large groups, small groups and all ages. The choice of food was good with a great range and some particularly tasty looking cakes. We had soup and sandwiches followed by a scone and hot chocolate. The portions were generous and the service excellent. We followed this by a visit to the shop where my wife purchased some beautiful stuff. This was an exceptionally good experience and one that we will repeat on our next visit.

Splendid pub restaurant with a good menu. All food hot, tasty, well presented. I chose tomato and rice soup, lobster crayfish and pancetta macaroni, and a whisky panacotte. Nice pint of Innes & Gunn IPA, and a dram of Knockando from the whisky menu. All great. Very reasonably priced.
