This is a fantastic victorian pub, fully refurbished with an eye to the past.Positioned on the banks of the River Mersey with views over to Liverpool,we serve great home made food seven days a week 12pm til 9pm and carry up to six real ales from local mic
Travelled from Manchester to meet family members here who had recommended the Refreshment rooms and we were not disappointed. The service was prompt and quick with the food arriving piping hot and of generous portion size. Six adults and three children ate and drank for under £98 which to me is good value.Staff members were friendly and patient when dealing with our indecisive children and the quality of the food was good (very hearty pub food). Thanks again

Cosy little corner of Lark Lane, Liverpool. Relaxed atmosphere, friendly staff and a top notch menu of lovely British food.
Its a great place with a fantastic, enthusiastic owner. Food is generally really very good (probably the greatest chicken burger around or anywhere in fact) and the cake cabinet a firm favourite. Can get really busy, which is a marker of its deserved success (albeit upsetting when you can't get in).

Open Sundays From 13.00 To 17.00
Well, weâve never been to this restaurant despite living within walking distance! Thought weâd try it out for Fatherâs Day, and what a good idea that was. Weâre both vegetarians so thatâs always slightly worrying....usually veggie lasagne or a lame mushroom risotto zzzzz zzzzz. Anyway, starter was a halloumi skewer, beautifully cooked and very fresh. Main was a lovely nut roast with seasonal vegetables, all cooked really well and very tasty. A bottle of wine or two later we had desert. Sticky toffee pudding for me and lemon tart for my Dad. Both really nice. This restaurant is lovely. The staff are so welcoming and friendly. Itâs got a lovely friendly vibe and itâs great value. Service not rushed either. Why havenât we been before thatâs what Iâm asking myself!!! Loved it and will be back soon. Thanks x

I and my Son had a very pleasant meal at the restaurant overlooking the Canal. We both had the black pudding starter which arrived piping hot and was very tasty. We had different main courses, I having the lamb shank on a bed of mash served with seasonal veg and a rich gravy, my Son had the belly pork with looked very impressive indeed. We both agreed that the meals were delicious and arrived hot. The staff are friendly and attentive also the restaurant is not too big with a cozy vibe.

We are dedicated to Real Food, Real Kitchen, Real Chefs. We do not do fast food, but we do great food as fast as we can.
My dear sister recently watched a documentary on independent television called The Real Housewives Of Cheshire, a gritty, no nonsense portrayal of life in the North-West of England. As a contrast to Islington she was keen to see such deprivation for herself so we asked Baker to fire up the Daimler and headed up the M1. It was as bad as we feared with men seemingly unable to afford warm coats on what was a cold autumn night and the women dressed in rags: I don't think I saw a pair of jeans that wasn't practically in tatters all evening. We obviously needed an escape from this poverty and whilst driving round spotted The Cheshire Yeoman. The establishment is divided into a dining area and a bar area with the two being strictly divided along gender lines: ladies in the dining area and the men drinking in the bar. Having settled ourselves at a vacant table a friendly lady provided us with menus. Everything on offer looked inviting and it was difficult to choose. Our meals didn't take too long to arrive and were well presented. The food was good but could have been better with my dear sister's beef being a little dry, but the excellent service easily compensated for this. In the meantime Baker had finished a well kept pint of beer and a packet of crisps in the car park. Our journey back to the comforts of the capital passed without incident.

This could be an excellent restaurant but our booking for 8 people on Saturday afternoon was forgotten so tables were hastily put together. The Food was excellent and even though there were only 4 others in there it did take some time to arrive, having said that it was all freshly prepared so I guess it takes time and nicely washed down with 3 bottles of pink cava.

Described as a hidden gem in rural Cheshire, The White Lion is a friendly village inn with large open fires, wooden beamed ceilings and cosy snugs. It has been standing pride of place in the village of Childer Thornton since 1724 and welcomes both the loc

We donât just provide great accommodation â we also believe our restaurant to be an important part of the whole Woodcote House Hotel experience and weâre open to residents and non-residents alike. Using a combination of local produce and a great deal of c
We attended a function here but rather than being in the restaurant room we were in the function room. This was nice bright and airy (clearly recently decorated) leading off into a very nice garden area. The staff were lovely, very helpful and enough of them as the bar was very busy. We had pre-ordered food which you would expect for a planned event however, nothing tasted or appeared that it had been kept warm languishing under a heat lamp! Had a fishcake to start which was really nice followed by baked cod. My partner had roasted tomato & red pepper soup followed by roast beef and we both had the meringue for pudding. The food was delicious especially as it was a very large group the food did not suffer! A thoroughly good experience even the house wine was really nice!
