Think of any movue where there's a scene set in the 16th century Inn, hold that image and you're here! Amazing! It's your typical wooden beam ceilings, tiled fireplaces, crooked walls, solid stone floors, quaint fixtures, and all centred around a huge grand wooden bar. Add pints of real cornish beer, delicious homemade pub food and friendly staff mixed with cheery locals, a great atmosphere and a warm welcome. Just perfect. Make sure you dine here! You won't be disappointed. Thank you for a great evening. Will be back for sure.

Probably about 20 years since I last visited this pub and it's been transformed. The pub is characterful and cosy and our party of four were made very welcome. There is an extensive and tempting menu but we stuck with just main courses. Everyone was pleased with their choices - mussels, chicken curry, steak pie and for me the maple glazed pork tenderloin served with beautiful ham hock croquettes. It most certainly deserves its reputation for pub food way above the average.

Pub and eatery in the stunning Watermouth Valley North Devon.
I really don't enjoy leaving bad reviews but this place is not how they market themselves! Having been holidaying in the area for a couple of days we planned in a nice evening out to come here dine and relax. It looks so amazing from the outside and is set in an absolutely beautiful location but that's all thats going for it. Such a shame as inside, its badly laid out (no reference to being an old sawmill) with boring plain decor and allow dogs everywhere. Staff have a bad attitude and don't seem to care so in the end we just got up and left without ordering. Ironically, another couple who entered just as we were leaving, literally did the same and walked straight back out! Sorry but we won't be back or recommending.

Had fish stew and the fish tapas. We both really enjoyed our meals and the service is excellent. Well worth a visit, good variety on the menu with daily specials. Looking at the the tables, all the orders looked great.

Good coffee and a wide range of excellent home made cakes and pastries. Sandwiches and baguettes made to order. The only thing we didnât like was an uncovered display on the top of the counter open to every passing sneeze. Toilet. Closed Sundays.

Amazing Devonshire cream tea today at the Galleon tea rooms, the scones were fresh and served warm with a generous helping of jam and oh so delicious Devonshire clotted cream with the offer of more if we needed it (we didn't) beautiful view of the sea from the terrace so this place has it all and ticks all the boxes for me when I want a great cream tea

Portion sizes are plentiful, great value for kids with Value Box (small fish, small sausage, small chips for £4.50). Only gripe was the chips were a little on the greasy side but the cod was large with lovely chunky flakes.I was impressed that theyâve ditched the plastic carrier bags for large, sturdy paper bags. Big thumbs up.
