We are one of the best restaurant in chapel en le frith and high peak district everything cooked freshly made
Went here last Friday for food after work - this was the first time I'd been since it had changed from being the Royal Oak pub.Excellent range of pizzas available, and very tasty they were too. However it was let down by the serving staff (had to be beckoned over every time, they were not proactive regarding service). Additionally, the pizzas were particularly slow to arrive.Additionally, at the end of the meal, we were briefly accused of underpaying. It was sorted quickly, as we could remind the waitress who paid what on card, but it left a poor taste, especially as we had in fact left a tip once cash was included. If they can get the service to match the quality of the food, it'd be a great little local place.

A country pub in the Peak District serving hearty meals with real ales, continental lagers and great wines in a setting bestowing a 18th century inn now with en-suite bedrooms.
The Lamb Inn lies on one of possible routes between Derby and the north. Our confidence in the place is such that we like to build into our trip a meal there if the time of day suits us. Sometimes it does. Sometimes it doesn't. Whenever we do call in, it always pleases. The standard menu is broad and interesting, the prices reasonable, the quality of the cooking first class. And there is home made bread too. It is also comparatively peaceful, friendly, welcoming and relaxing: just the place to have a break under modern motoring conditions. I always come away pleased, and my most recent visit was like that too.

Stopped in for lunch today. Two courses for under a tenner, had smashing chicken wings starter followed by roast turkey with all the trimmings. Very very good, hearty portions and piping hot. Will definitely return, place was spectacularly decorated for the festive season.

Cosy, reasonably priced cafe, serving locally sourced good homemade food.
Disappointed to be walking towards the cafe as a group of six to be told they were closing up and wouldn't serve us, especially as we had struggled over the cobbles to the cafe with a wheelchair in full view of the server. There was no option to have a cold drink or anything. If advertised as open (and serving) till four, they should not be closing up at twenty to.Unfortunately you went to the Stocks café Lounge, not the Stocks café & Bistro, the stocks café lounge closes at 15:00, so you turned up 20 min after closing, and put the reiew on the wrong business

used to be our regular haunt. Just come occasionally now, as much better places to dine out at. Had the roast dinner, much the same average food as before. On the plus side the service was friendly and good and its not very expensive.

Hidden high in the hills of the Dark Peak "The No Car Cafe" welcomes walkers, horse riders and cyclists. Share in the wild, rugged, beauty of its landscape. Those that make the journey will be rewarded with locally sourced, freshly prepared, real food in
We visited while walking but this cafe also welcomes cyclists and riders - they even have stables! The cafe is beautifully furnished with lovely solid wood furniture and a log burning stove. The setting is amazing, walk down the lane 500m from the main footpaths and bridleway and you are âin the middle of nowhereâ - the walk back up the lane is also good to burn off the calories from the cakes that you couldnât resist! We stayed in the attached b&b so had breakfast as well as stopping for a scone with cream and jam after our walk. There is a great choice on the menu and they serve a lovely proper sized pot of tea! The food is all high quality and locally sourced as well as the owners being welcoming and being happy to advise you on good local walks. I would definitely recommend this cafe to anyone visiting the Peak District.

Visiting in the area and was looking for somewhere to eat, searched Trip Advisor for recommendations and came across this place. They don't do food during the week. The place is an absolute dive, old fashioned, mismatched furniture, no atmosphere. There was only one other couple in there. We left after one drink, felt really uncomfortable.

We are proud of our reputation for great local ales and have an amazing regular following, who are not only responsible for the wonderfull lively atmosphere you will find at the Old Hall, but also for allowing such an extensive selection of traditional ha
We loved it. Went there for a weekend and took the train to Chinley. After that a 10 minutes walk to the hotel. Friendly and efficient staff. Make sure to book a quiet room. Ask for walks from the inn; they have maps for easy to quite strengthening walks. Have your food in the restaurant. Good choice of food and wine by the glass. Breakfast is a buffet where pre ordered hot breakfast can be added. Thank you for your visit, we are pleased you enjoyed your staff. Our breakfast is a continental buffet with hot items being cooked to order by our breakfast chef, at no extra charge.
