Lovely day at the excellent gala, fancied an ice cream so headed for the Tuck Inn as it has a good reputation. However most of the staff seem incapable of serving ice cream. Waited patiently with me grandson to be served by a female member of staff who wiped the counter twice but did not try to serve us. Then a young lady staff member came from the back of the shop and proceeded to serve people who came in well after us. Normally I would have kicked up a storm, but as my grandson was waiting with me I decided to leave quietly. We went to the Panmure Arms at the top of the street where we were greeted by a lovely member of staff and got our ice creams with great service and a smile. I urge all further visitors to do the same. You will not be disappointed at the Panmure ice cream dispensary.Disappointed to read this, and can only offer an apology. I would encourage you to respectfully challenge the staff, and bring to their attention that you were in line for service before those who may have entered later. The ice cream/take away area can become congested during busy periods, and itâs not always clear to staff who may be next in line for service.

Brechin's foremost real ale pub & restaurant. In CAMRA's Good Beer Guide since 2005. Great food freshly prepared by our chef Stephen Field served in the relaxing and welcoming environment of our large wood-and-stone open-plan bar/dining area. A great sele
Group of 6 out to celebrate one ladyâs Birthday tonight. Chose from theâEarly Bird â menu...2 courses for £13 or 3 for £16. I had a black pudding and goats cheese tower to start and it was absolutely delicious!! And what a serving!! Most of us then had curries, all delicious, no complaints, and service with a smile and some friendly banter as usual from Heather. All in all a lovely evening.

Met by friendly staff who quickly showed us to our table. They were very knowledgeable about special. Menu board. Usual pub grub with a few specials from starters through to sweets. Although we all ordered different meals these arrived altogether piping hot. Only fault is when advertising steak pie to me steak pie is made with pastry cooked on top, not stewed steak with a pastry slice on top (which many other restaurants do) steak pies not steak pie with a soggy bottom..Meals enjoyed by all.

Called in here for a lunch and found it to be very satisfactory. It was reasonably busy but service was prompt, efficient and courteous. The smoked haddock and bacon risotto was especially nice. A good feature of this hotel is that all of the main courses were offered as full or half portions. We had a starter followed by half portions and this was quite enough to eat at lunchtime and made for a modest bill of £31 for two including two soft drinks.Well worth a visit.

Having come from Aberdeen, we were looking for a nice place for lunch and happened to stumble across this place. Reviews were good and the pics looked good! The only drawback and has been mentioned by others is the coffee is not great, the milk is heated far too much and makes an enjoyable beverage scalding hot. Onto the good stuff, the food. They've a good mix of food on offer and a bunch of changing specials. Goats cheese salad to start and for the first time my partner and I both ordered the same main (roast lamb and the trimmings), and finished with a sticky toffee pudding. We left stuffed and happy. It's a small town and one which can be easily missed, but do take a look and try here.

Called in for lunch and was well looked after. It's a busy place and I felt just a bit of a cog in the well oiled wheel. The staff were a little brusque and matter-of-fact and I almost felt I got in the way of a highly efficient operation.Menu was attractive, varied and well priced and I can see why the place was so busy with locals.

Bright and airy, newly renovated coffee shop serving light food, including sandwiches, panini, tasty soups, baked potatoes, home baking, and more.. Situated on the A90 southbound, 2miles south of Brechin
Stopped in with wife and her family . The cafe is very clean . The menu is okay but not much choices for vegetarians or vegans . Nothing marked on the menu with a V . Staff are polite and helpful . Toilets are immaculate . Will go back but will try other places locally first .

I absolutely love coming here for their hot savoury scones. They are absolutely delicious. Take note it is a 3hr round trip for me but well worth it. The food here is really good and very reasonably priced

Enjoy the highest level of professional service with an addition of classical style within the dining room and its unadulterated opulence of décor, one of the very few restaurants of period features left in the locality, or unparalleled surrounding with a
We just stopped for coffee. The lady at the reception desk was extremely helpful and we were soon sitting on the patio beside a sun drenched garden waiting for our coffees and shortbread to arrive. It was fascinating walking through the whisky dominated bar which I later learned had 1050 different brands of whisky. Parking is easy.Great to read that you received our special Glenesk Hospitality for your coffee visit. We appreciate your positve feedback with regards to our facilities here and hope that you have the opportunity to re-visit the hotel again soon.Kind Regards,Martin McilrathGeneral Manager
