Myself and a friend stopped at the copper kettle on the way home from a day on Dartmoor. The afternoon tea is lovely and great value for money. The tea room is clean and cosy and really a lovely place to be! The owner was lovely and so welcoming as well. Would love to go back when we're next in the area.

Coming into Lustleigh is a nightmare from the wrong direction. Satnav accuracy is dubious. In The Cleave we had a warm welcome, I assume from the owner/landlord and his wife.Varied menu and decent quality. Prices very reasonable and good wine and beers.Would definitely recommend making the effort.

My wife and I had visited Cromwell Arms back in August so we decided to book it for a family wake on Monday 28th and we all ( 10 adults, 1 child) thoroughly enjoyed our meals and sandwiches. The service throughout was attentive and helpful and very glad that we had arranged booking here.

I drove three of my friends to The Old Pottery restaurant for a surprise lunch during the week. We were shown to our table by a very friendly staff member. There is quite a varied menu, a specials board and a small selection of light bites and childrenâs portions. I had the chicken and bacon salad which at £11 was a joke. Two strips of fatty bacon, three tiny pieces of chicken, many salad leaves and a minuscule amount of cucumber and tomatoes. Not good at all. Two of the others had the Snooki burger which came with fries, huge onion rings, coleslaw with the burger on ciabatta bread. Looked amazing but the burgers were almost impossible to cut. Coffee was good though. Unfortunately our lunch was also cut short as we were all too cold to sit there any longer. Shame. Thank you for your comments. We are so sorry that your lunch experience with us was not enjoyable. We have recently changed our menu, so we will be able to provide you with different/new dishes to choose from. Please do advise us if you are too cold or too hot and we will do our best to improve the thermal conditions to ensure you are comfortable. Hopefully you will try us again.

The Palk Arms, A Free House Pub set high above the Teign Valley and has wonderful panoramic views over the rolling hills and beautiful countryside.
Me and my family fancied eating out tonight and decided to go somewhere different. So we hopped onto trip advisor and found the Palk Arms. Seeing the last two reviews and how one sided they were we were unsure about what to think, however we scrolled down and saw further reviews which presented the pub in a positive way, therefore we came up to give it a go.We were greeted with an attentive bar maid, who instantly showed us to our table and showed us the menu (which is written on slates) It was so busy, which was surprising for a tuesday night, as most places are dead in the week. The menu has a great variety and offers something for everyone- which was good in our case as my daughter is quite fussy! Our table had a Thai chicken curry, the haddock fishcakes and our two children had the chicken nuggets which are served with chips and beans. The food was amazing, proper pub grub! With a good price and a very good portion size, you walk away feeling full. Unfortunately we were too stuffed for desserts, however the desserts that were served to tables next to us looked gorgeous, and seemed to be enjoyed. All in all the whole experience was great and we will be reccommending this place to all of our friends and family! We will continue to show support to this pub, as you are made to feel so welcome. Fair play to the Landlord and Landlady as they seem to have a great pub with great locals.

We were staying in a nearby hotel and were out for a walk with the dog. We stopped in here for a drink. There is a restaurant and bar both of which looked nice and inviting. If we were here for longer we would definitely give the food a try. As it was we had some drinks and had a pleasant time sitting in the beer garden across the road. A nice girl came out and gave the dog a treat but didnât seem interested in enforcing their stated âdogs on leadsâ policy. There were a couple of wee yappie mongrels running loose much to everyoneâ annoyance but no one seemed to care. The drinks were on the pricey side which might explain why it was quiet on an otherwise busy with people, warm, sunny Saturday afternoon. Thanks for the review. Glad you stopped by and were able to enjoy our lovely garden on what has lately been a rare sunny afternoon. We do ask for dogs to be kept on leads in the garden and our drinks are very fairly priced we believe for location & quality. We hope you will stop by again if you are in the area.

Had the absolute misfortune to witness the owner telling a very heavily pregnant lady to leave the restaurant, after they had ordered their meal, as her young child played up getting in the high chair! Yes the little girl was crying but the flustered mum was trying to control the outburst and also doing her best to try to encourage her to behave at a meal time. This poor young mother was left crying outside, shame on you, we will never visit again. What a pity neither you or your elderly clientele can remember being-young and needing support and empathy
