We came in on bank holiday Monday with friends on the 26th and thoroughly enjoyed our meals, the steak and ale pie was delicious. However the service was what made us rate the dog and duck so highly, the two young men both serving the food were both polite and charming and made us feel welcome. Will be visiting again!

We were welcome to bring our dog inside to this very busy cafe and deli...great start for us. On holiday so pushed the boat out - two small English Breakfast (large must be an amazing sight!)l. Great local food, impressive plate full, well cooked and even the toast was clearly decent/proper bread. Lovely waitress who helped us with a dog friendly dinner recommendation, despite being very busy. Will definitely return.

Located in the heart of Beverley in the historic Anne Routh House. Serving homemade daily specials, cakes and scones.
Kavanaghâs is centrally located in Beverley so very handy indeed. It has an attractive traditional frontage and some tables are available outside. Interior seating is on two floors. The décor is Agatha Christy traditional but comfortable too. The establishment is popular and I was glad we had booked in advance for afternoon tea because it was quite full by 1.30 pm on a Tuesday. The afternoon tea was excellent. The tea itself was good quality and was served in china cups. You can have refills. We did but we were âforgottenâ and had to good downstairs and ask for a refill. It came very quickly with an apology but it would have been better if someone had bothered to check upstairs. This was really the only negative. We were made welcome and, apart from the refill request, the service was efficient and friendly. You get four different types of sandwiches and all were tasty. We particularly liked the egg mayo and the coronation chicken. The three cakes we each received were moist and enjoyable. No problems either with the very good fruit scones, clotted cream and strawberry jam. I can certainly recommend the afternoon tea. All in all, very enjoyable.

Woolpack inn Beverley, serving home cooked food. Serving hours are: Tuesday 5.00 to 8.00pm. Wednesday to Saturday 12.00pm-2.30pm & 5.00pm-8.00pm Sundayâs Serving Sunday Lunches and Steak pie & Special pies 12.00pm-6.00pm (last orders 5.30pm)
Booked for Sunday lunch after a few visits under previous ownerships. Not sure if Iâm honest if the price has gone up or not but at £11 for a roast beef lunch vs the quality it seemed expensive. Beef wasnât what I would have expected but adequate.Drinks at nearly three pounds for a pint of coke and 4.50 for a fruity cider were dear enough although large red good value at £5.50.Beverley is an expensive place and wool pack has caught up it seems.Lovely pub though, always has been, but will give it some time to get better I think. The young lad waiting on was very attentive. Thanks for your review. We kept the same prices on drink and food as the former owner as we only took over in July. I would love to be able to lower prices of certain products but we are a fully tied pub even down to cordials and the margins are as low as they can be. So the only way to make the prices better is if we wasnât charged so much for them so I do apologise for that. We could make some of the menu cheaper if we bought cheaper food but we buy the best quality food we can sourced locally we strongly believe in using local produce from local suppliers even if itâs a bit more expensive to buy if we can. Kind Regards Jane

This establishment never fails to delight. The staff are so helpful and charming and managed to accommodate a large number of us with a little table manipulation. Welcomed with some celebratory fizz we were spoiled with a selection of delicious canapes, all rather different from the usual pre prandial fare. My main course was a fillet of baked salmon with a horseradish sauce and tasty vegetables; a trio of desserts: a ramekin of chocolate mousse, a little brandy basket filled witn fruits and an icecream concoction followed. Delicious. This tastefully decorated old station waiting room is a charming venue. The only slight drawback is the rather limited reception/bar area when a large number of people are being entertained. Otherwise I can't praise too highly.

Since opening in 2007, twins Matthew and Michele Barker, the partnership and passion behind The Westwood Restaurant, focus on offering high quality, locally sourced ingredients, showcasing the best of what the region has to offer. The Westwood has become
Booked for Saturday lunch and was not disappointed. The weather was lovely so we opted for a table outside in the lovely courtyard. The service was a bit over attentive, but friendly. The waitress told us about the daily specials and took our order for drinks then came back and took our food order. Whilst we were waiting for our main course, we overheard the waitress tell the people on the next table about the specials. She told them that whole grilled lobster was on that day. Our waitress had failed to mention this. Lobster is my favourite and I certainly would have ordered it. I didn't want to make a fuss so hid my disappointment and did not mention this to our waitress. The menu items were pricey, but we knew this before we came. I think, when you are paying nearly £30 for a main course that vegetables should be included but, not here. Each different vegetable side dish was £3.95 each. We both opted for the scallop starter, which was the most expensive on the menu, but we were not disappointed. There were 4 good sized king scallops presented in shells with the dressing. They were cooked to perfection and delicious. The mains, Wagyu bavette (posh name for fillet) and sea bream, were both very tasty. The side dishes of potatoes and mushrooms and broccoli were also good. For pudding, I chose the clafoutis, which was good but I think, could have been presented better. It came in it's baking dish with a blob of cream on the top. Perhaps a few seasonal fruits or mint leaves on a larger plate would have enhanced it's appearance. At £8.95, a tad overpriced. Two scoops of ice cream chosen by my better half was £6.00 and neither flavour was outstanding. There is a hefty 10% discretionary service charge but staff do ask if you are happy to pay this. I cannot see that many would refuse.Overall taking into consideration the setting, service and ambience I would recommend the Westwood if you want to splash out.

Travellers Rest is situated within a historic Grade ll listed building. Open fires, delicious treats, great coffee and a warm welcome will always await you.
Came here for takeaway sandwiches for my husband and myself on Saturday. Freshly made to order, with a good selection of fillings and cake, this place always hits the spot!! Always have the pulled pork but mixed it up with coronation chicken as well.

Unless you're interested in churches, and visit its magnificent church whose spire is visible for miles around, you're unlikely to take a detour to the East Yorkshire village of South Dalton, unless that is you're aware of the Pipe and Glass tucked away at the western end. This is not 'pub-food' but one of the best eateries anywhere in the area. On our latest visit, the delicious pre-dinner amuse bouches set the standard for a most enjoyable evening. In amongst the more sophisticated Goats Cheese Wellington and Sea Trout dishes, we also sampled more traditional fare, including a generous prawn cocktail, and a beautiful main-course gammon and egg. Beers and wines are reasonably priced and service is excellent. As another reviewer succinctly put it - "Everything was spot on, a little pricey but well worth it."

A hidden gem in the centre of Beverley, serving genuine home made food and a selection of Cask Marque accredited real ales and real cider.Just 5 minutes walk from the historic Beverley Minster, the pub has it's own car park & beer gardens at the rear.
Visited this pub as it had received good reviews and an extensive gluten free menu. Although the dog friendly area was fully booked they were very accommodating and explained we could sit in the bar area. Staff made us feel very welcome and immediately brought water and biscuits for my dog.The service was excellent and very efficient and the manager was very happy to assist with any questions we had regarding the menu. The food service was very quick and did not disappoint at all, good portion size, piping hot and delicious. On a separate note this pub has a very good gluten free menu, tried the pie of the day and was really nice.Would recommend this pub for a nice drink and would definitely eat here again.
