I visited here in late April as part of a day cycling around the New Forest. We stopped here for lunch. The menu was limited and my food - soup - wasn't great. It wasn't very hot and it lacked in flavour. The pub garden was nice and it was lovely sitting in the sun. I'd pop back in again if I was cycling by, but I wouldn't rush back.Dear GuestThank you for choosing to stop for lunch, I hope you enjoyed a wonderful day of cycling.I am so sorry that you felt the menu was limited and found the soup not to your satisfaction. Unfortunately, you havenât indicated if you brought this to the attention of the management team at the time, but I would like to offer my sincere apologies for your disappointment. We feel our gastro-pub, Montyâs Inn offers an excellent selection on the menu â a choice of two ploughmanâs, a range of sandwiches, five choices of starters and eleven mains. There is also an extensive childrenâs menu â whereas our lounge bar, the Magnolia Lounge, offers a more reduced menu â five savoury choices, including soup and ploughmanâs and a selection of desserts.I would like to pass on a little friendly advice â when visiting anywhere in the future, please do not hesitate to bring even the smallest issue to the managementâs attention in order that they have the chance to rectify and resolve the issue thus ensuring your total satisfaction before you leave, which is so important.I am pleased that you enjoyed sitting in the sunshine in our gardens and it is lovely to know that you will âpop back in againâ if you are cycling by, we look forward to that day and welcoming you again.Best wishesSunil

With beautiful views over the Beaulieu River it is difficult to imagine a more picturesque setting for a restaurant. Enjoy a sumptuous three course meal in our AA Rosette awarded Riverview Restaurant with a glass of something white or red from our perfect
I really enjoyed our meal here. A few things could be improved upon but I stress these are minor. The setting is very nice and good for a romantic meal. For starters I had the mackerel which was well cooked. The top of the artichoke served with it was a bit woody. My partner had the squash soup which she said was delicious. For mains I had the trio of pork. This was very nice but the carrot and potato served with it was just a garnish and it needed extra side dishes with it really. My partner had the duck that was served with potato and beetroot. This was a bit more than a garnish and didnât really need extra side dishes. Some consistency would be appreciated. For dessert I had a carrot cake with ice cream that was substantial and very nice. My partner had the orange tort which she said was delicious. The food bill was £70 which was quite reasonable. Wine starts at £20 a bottle. Finally, there was a constant slight smell of drains in the restaurant that was a little off putting. Hopefully, this is a temporary problem.Dear guestThank you for taking the time to write a constructive review on your recent visit to the restaurant.I am delighted to hear that, over all, you enjoyed your meal with us.I will pass on your comments to our Head Chef.I agree with the smell, we have had issues with the drainage which passes under the restaurant. Rest assured that this issue is being dealt with.I do hope that we might have the chance to welcome you back to the hotel in the future.Kara

The Royal Oak is a family run historic pub set in the New Forest. It offers an excellent range of real ales and ciders, as well as lovely homemade food and desserts. The pub is near to local attractions such as Beaulieu motor museum, Lepe beach and Exbury
We went along on a sunny afternoon for Sunday lunch . Big mistake!Stood at the bar for 5 minutes being totally ignored. Then had to intervene before another customer jumped the queue .We were offered a table. But couldn't get a drink as it would be " served at the table right away "After 10 more minutes sat at the table , with no hint if any service , we left .We have regularly visited this pub over many years. Until the staff get a modicum of customer service we will not he back . Shame .

One of the best eggs benedict I've had in here, and the breakfasts choice is brilliant. Looking at my friends breakfast it looked lovely. The pricing is excellent value for money too.Staffed by volunteers from the church, the menu and coffees are varied and cooked to order. It takes time when busy, but is well worth the wait. Highly recommended

We visited this pub on a Friday night with live music which was great. The atmosphere was lively and welcoming and the pub was busy but you could hear yourself talk. Everyone was friendly and there was a good specials board for food as well as the main menu. Our group had bangers and mash, fish and chips and the homemade chicken curry. All the food was fresh and tasty and well cooked. The sausages tasted very fresh and local and the chicken curry was really well seasoned with a nice kick. We got chatting to another couple of tables there with their dogs as dogs are welcomed and had a really lovely evening. Would definitely come again!

We came across Steffâs kitchen when searching online for somewhere to get breakfast in Beaulieu before heading to the motor museum. The reviews looked great so we headed there for opening at 9am. You could tell it was a popular destination as the car park was already quite busy. We were seated straight away and both ordered a Beaulieu Breakfast (full English) which arrives promptly despite being quite busy and was delicious. If we hadnât of been so full we were contemplating returning later that day for lunch as the menu looked so good. As it is based at a garden centre there is also a lovely shop to explore too. Weâll definitely be back next time we are in the area.

I heard good things about this restuarant and saw good reviews in Trip, however, it didnât live up to my expectation. We went for Sunday lunch but there wasnât any roasts on the menu or on boards around the restuarant so we ordered meals from a limited menu. However, the locals seem to know that they can order roasts as one couple were later served with roast beef! Bread served at the start of our meal was dry and the main meals were bland, so nothing to write home about. Overall, apart from the decor, I was far from being impressed.Dear Guest,I was saddened to hear that you have left feeling disappointed following your recent visit to Monty's Inn, this is clearly never our intention. We strive so hard to exceed our guests' expectations and I am so sincerely sorry that this was not the case when you visited. We listen very carefully to what our guests tell us and will always act upon any feedback that we receive. I would very much like to establish more details so that I can look into this further, can I kindly ask that you make contact with our Monty's Manager, Richard on [email protected] when your time permits, providing him with your contact details. He will then be able to call you at a mutually convenient time to discuss this further.Thank you and we look forward to hearing from you soon.Kind RegardsAndrew
