A great pub with friendly staff & welcoming landlord. The food was home cooked, really tasty and arrived really quickly. A really good selection of food on the menu too. Good food, good beer, great customer service and a relaxing environment. Will visit again if we are in the area.

We received a very warm welcome at the copper kettle, on a very wet day! Huge jacket potato lunch and our cockapoo was made very welcome too. We were able to stay for a second cuppa and could have stayed all afternoon! Delightful place.Thank you for your visit and very kind words hope to see you again

We are a local community pub, with pool table and darts board, we have a good selection of Ales , Beers , Cider , wines and spirits. Our food offer is very different to what is on offer locally, we offer slow smoked pork ribs, beef short ribs, good steaks
The Landlord reopened his kitchen on a Sunday evening just for us and cooked a delicious roast beef dinner. Good beer from St Austell and cider from s local farm. Think this is the Bampton locals pub and we were pleased to be part of it.

My husband and I, plus our friend, decided to break our journey home from Cornwall in the pretty small town of Bampton. We chose to stay the night at the Ginger Peanut and to enjoy the delights on offer at the restaurant run by chef Peter Mundy. On arrival we were welcomed and made to feel at ease straight away. Our rooms were beautifully appointed with top quality bedding and towels. Big bathrooms for each room too. Lots of lovely toiletries to ease us into a relaxing bath or shower after our drive from Cornwall. Dinner was superb. Everything freshly prepared, exquisite to look at on the plate and utterly delicious on the palate. See photos attached.I cant think of a thing that Peter and his team could do more to make their guests comfortable. We loved every minute of our stay.Oooh... breakfast the next morning again relaxed, unhurried and superbly cooked. This restaurant and rooms couldn't be more highly recommended. Try it you wont be disappointed.Thankyou for your lovely review Liz. We very much enjoyed having you to stay with us

A warm welcome awaits you at the Toucan, a cosy Cafe with a true sense of tradition. We work hard to offer a selection of homemade food and snacks, incorporating local produce where we can so that you get a true flavour of our beautiful surrounding countr
A beautifully clean restaurant with first class staff/owners.I had the Full English Breakfast, all freshly cooked (no stewed beans here) and very filling, so filling in fact I skipped lunch.Best breakfast Iâve had for a while, certainly a 5 star breakfast.

Bridge House is a relaxed, friendly restaurant run by the owners Nigel & Caroline serving British dishes using local, fresh & seasonal produce with the menu changing frequently. All the food is freshly prepared in our kitchen. Come in for breakfast, a cof
The popularity of Bridge House tells the tale. People are welcome for coffee, breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea. Advisable to book ahead! The menus are very creative and make the very best use of local products. The food is very good indeed. Excellent relaxed ambience and the warmest of welcomes. In warmer weather it's a delight to dine in the beautiful garden.I especially love the home made extras; jams, chutneys, breads etc.the home made marmalade is very special. Dining here never disappoints. The Sunday roasts are very well received and there is equally delicious option for veggies. It's very difficult to choose from the lovely desserts! Sticky toffee pudding is hard to resist however as is the cheese board. The whole experience is just right! and there is easy parking across the road!

Set in the charming historic town of Bampton, an area well known for its hunting, fishing, shooting and hugely popular with ramblers and cyclists alike. The magnificent Exmoor National Park is just six miles away and the beautiful beaches of North and Sou
We went to the Swan having heard good things. The welcome was warm and the decor modern but in keeping with the traditional elements (if that makes sense!)We had nibbley starters to share, the houmous was delicious and clearly homemade. I had lamb, it wasn't as warm as it could have been and was fattier than I'd have liked (I appreciate that lamb is fatty generally). My fondant potato was slightly dry. Having said all this is was very tasty! My friends had the duck which may have been the better choice with hindsight. Dessert was fabulous. Prices were in line with what you'd expect and the staff were lovely. We'll likely go back, either to the Swan or to their new venture down the road!

The Bear is a 17th Century coaching inn that reflects Wiveliscombe's heritage. The Bear is a traditional English pub where the atmosphere is friendly and convivial, where young and old and families mix. Dogs on leads are welcome in the pub and outside pat
Had a really lovely family meal including lovely home made gluten free pizza. It was busy in the pub but we were made very welcome and didnât have to wait long. Had the most amazing ploughmanâs with scotch eggs and balsamic onions. Would thoroughly recommend and will definitely go back when in the area. Good choice at reasonable prices. Lovely outside seating area.
