We received the warmest of welcomes to this lovely hotel. Our rooms were huge and well equipped with very generous supplies of great biscuits as well as tea, coffee and hot chocolate. This is a wonderful location from which to explore Wensleydale, just walking distance to the stunning Falls and a short drive to see red squirrels. The Latvian waitress in the morning looked after us really well, with a great choice of breakfast and the dinner menu is superb, we loved the lamb, grouse and sea trout. This is one of the most caring places I've ever stayed.

We were lucky to get a table in this busy tea shop which attracts a steady flow of diners. The very pleasant and friendly member of staff confirmed that the cakes, scones and teacakes all contained eggs and/or milk so unfortunately there were no vegan options. However, when we were enjoying our espresso (which came with a glass of water, always welcome) and Americano she let us know they had vegan rocky road bars available so we were able to enjoy something sweet with our coffees, which were excellent and supplied by Grumpy Mule of Holmfirth.

The Wheatsheaf Inn is a traditional Yorkshire Dales pub with real fires, real ale, and real home-cooked food. All our dishes are created using locally-sourced ingredients, where possible. We also have vegetarian dishes, a vegan and gluten free menu and an
Called into the pub after a beautiful day in the dales, staff were really friendly and there was a good atmosphere in the pub. The home made food was delicious and good value. The steak was cooked to perfection. Definitely worth a visit againThank you for writing us such a lovely review, we really do hope to see you again soon. Claire and Em

Food pretty average here, some of the dishes we had okay, others poor. It is a good pub environment, but I wouldn't eat here again. The chef wondered into the eating area a couple of times (not to talk to the customers I hasten to add) with his trouser hanging so low, he was showing lots of crack, sort of off putting.

A beautiful historic public house and restaurant, recently refurbished and under new management. Our bar offers a wide selection of local and national ales, and a great choice of spirits, wines and gins. Our restaurant offers great food made using locally
While having a lovely day out in the Yorkshire Dales we headed for Askrigg as itâs one of our favourite places & as we were hungry we decided to call here for lunch, what an amazing place it is, from the wonderfully stocked bar, fabulous fire place & many other items of interest with the history of Askrigg shown in many of the pictures including the cast from All Creatures Great & Small, now to the food, delicious steak & ale pie full to the brim with tender meat, fresh veg & yummy mash with plenty of gravy, the burger was also lovely with tasty chips & salad, all in all a great meal & we will return when we are back in the wonderful Dales, will recommend The Kings Arms to my friends too

We are a family run tearoom based in the village of Bainbridge. Overlooking the village green there is seating in and outside where you and enjoy one of our many homemade produce. Open seasonally 7 days a week from March until end of October 9.30am till 4
Set in the beautifully picturesque village of Bainbridge, the cafe offers a delicious range of cakes and drinks- hot and cold. Also a typical menu is available for breakfasts and lunches, or just a drink to sit down and enjoy while admiring the surrounding views. Seating is available both inside and outside. Typical regional gifts are also available. Well worth a visit.

Gin and Tonics were served already poured, no option to adjust strength. Our wine was brought to the table already opened, was it what we'd paid for? There was a problem with my husband's meal, manager was unbelievably rude. Have visited hundreds of restaurants all over the world, never been treated like this, could not possibly reccommend.

Elegant and delicious food, well deserving of their 3 rosettes. Not an inexpensive choice for a meal out, and not a good choice if you are looking for a big feed-up, as the portions are quite small. However, the food is outstanding, with plenty of choice on their tasting menu that changes regularly to reflect seasonal and locally sourced produce.

We visited mid-week and had the giant Yorkshire pudding with Cumberland sausage, the gammon, egg and pineapple and the fish and chips. The food was freshly cooked and very tasty although quite basic pub grub. Very good portions especially the gammon and eggs. Good selection of beers. Seating quite basic. Dogs are welcome.

Situated in the Yorkshire Dales National Park, The Wensleydale Heifer may be within easy reach of the A1 and M6 but it still feels totally rural. A traditional white-washed inn complete with leaded lights and swinging sign, The Wensleydale Heifer gives th
We were staying in Stow House about 6 minutes away and the proprietor there kindly recommended and booked us a table at The Wensleydale Heifer on our first night - it did not disappoint. We were seated in the bar area, which we had to ourselves for most of the night. Dogs are welcome and there were groups of people enjoying the ambient atmosphere in adjoining rooms. There is a wonderful balance of a relaxed and welcoming vibe with Michelin star quality. The serving staff are exceptionally polite and attentive. The highlight for us was the main meal...we highly recommend the slow roast beef, which we both ordered from the daily specials menu, we cleared our plates and savored every mouthful; it went perfectly with my glass of Malbec. The menu is extensive and you will find fish, steak and lobster feature heavily. There is a car park but it is a tight squeeze down the entrance/exit (between the hotel and another building) and I fear very wide or large vehicles would struggle to manoeuvre around it. There is also parking on the road. We would certainly visit again! Enjoy!Thank you so much for taking the time to post your lovely review.I am so pleased that you had a great time and enjoyed all aspects of your stay with us.I am delighted that you enjoyed some of our new seasonal dishes and I have passed your feedback onto the chefs. We all look forward to welcoming you back in the future.
