We are 21+ except for Sunday brunch.
Flying Squirrel is restaurant/bar in the "hip" area of Chattanooga off East Main Street. This was our first visit and were there for dinner on a Saturday night. We arrived around 6:30 and had options outside on the patio or indoors. It was a nice evening, and we picked outdoors on the front patio area. There is a nice side patio as well, but it allows smoking. The menu is robust with many interesting options for dining and from the bar. For dinner, they have share plates as well as traditional entrees. I picked a couple of small plates - the carne asada tacos and pan con tomate and my wife had the hanger steak. We were both pleased with our selections and ended up sharing everything. The tomate was light and tasty. There were three tacos with generous toppings. Together, they were a quite filling. I believe the hanger steak was the best of the three, however. It was cooked to perfection and just enough spiciness. Prices are a bit on the high side, but not completely unreasonable. Service was just fine from the hostess to our server. Parking in the area can be terrible, but there are several pay lots nearby.

Located in downtown Chattanooga, next to the Tennessee Aquarium, IMAX Theatre, and a short walk from the Children's Creative Discovery Museum, Big River Grille & Brewing Works features innovative cuisine, award-winning ales & lagers and a spacious outdoor
Went here with friends one evening during a convention. Ordered a great margarita and really delicious fish and chips. The staff was friendly, service was great and the price was excellent. Was nice to hide in here while it poured outside! MUCH nicer place than we tried to eat at first. Great benefit was how close it was to the hotel and other things to see downtown.

I had a grilled cheese sandwich with my brew...OMG, loaded with bacon, cheese and caramelized onions, on ciabatta. It was very good. The beer I had IMO was okay, not great, but at $6/pint during what should be happy hour was a bit steep in my mind.
