The trattoria is simple, but the food is very good, with friendly service. Few seats, so reservation strongly suggested especially at evening (at lunch, not so difficult to find a seat). Not easy parking place, but few hundred meter away there is a large garage (near the hospital) where at little cost is easy to find parking. For a trattoria, large choice of entree, main dishes (fish and meat) and dessert. Price low-midrange. Recommended.

A normal pub with great choice of the beers, staff were so kind and helpful. the food was so normal. I can accept every criticize; every person may not like the menu, the beers or the pub, but i personally find so offensive saying that the pub or the menu are "so normal". There is a daily searching on the recipes for the platters, the composition of the burgers and for the quality of he ingredients; the same is for the beers.I can understand that many people find that social a game where obtain badges, but the daily work we do is not a game.Have a nice day anyway.

Pub with a choice of German Belgian and Irish beers grilled cuisine Extra large sandwiches grilled cuisine with vegan menus
We wandered past this little pub, in the rain on a Sunday evening just after arriving in Trieste. The rain and our hunger (and distinctly rare parking around here) made us willing to forego a search for authentic Trieste Italian food in favor of what was to be had immediately. We were very happy we did. Being dang Americans on our first night in town, we let ourselves get quite hungry at 5:30 pm in a country where supper starts at 7:30 pm. The menu boasted its burgers and Guinness. SOLD. Again, we generally seek out local cuisine but not tonight. They opened at 6:00 PM and we were the first to arrive. We were greeted with a lovely, attentive waitress who spoke no English (one of the nice things about Trieste - you have to work a bit!) but we soon had beer and wine and then the chef, who spoke a little English invited us to his grill to see our options in person. The hospitality was genuine and delightful; we felt VERY welcome. What they specialize in is beef, locally raised and organic, in many forms. On offer a veal shank for two people and also a âspecialâ of a Slovenian sausage variation that was tempting. But having just had lots of sausage in Slovenia, we opted for the âAssembly Lineâ burger along with a side dish of potatoes, ham and cheese that was simply to die for. When the burger arrived (we split it) we did a double take! The presentation was big and beautiful. The burger was perfectly cooked with a touch of pink and was a normal size while toppings and the bread (two large squares of focaccia-like bread) made for a tower of a burger. Our drinks were kept as full as we wanted and the owner came by several times to check on our satisfaction. The decor is pub, with record albums and photos on the wall and with American Country music playing. While we arenât really country music super fans, the ambience was perfectly enjoyable. There was a single tv screen with a soccer game (sound off) which I put behind me so as not to be distracted, but which later patrons kept an eye on while enjoying their equally impressive burger creations. So if you feel like a bit of Pub culture while visiting Trieste, come here hungry, maybe bring an Italian translation app for the fine details and enjoy being in a pub that letâs you know that you are welcome and that your satisfaction matters. Weâll be back.

If you luck out and climb the right footpath in this tiny, enchanting town, you will find Vineria La Contrada. There are a handful of tables outside, on either side of the cobblestone walkway, and the shade is just right on a summer's day. The owners are welcoming, friendly and kind, and the food, which they make fresh that day, is exactly what you want from an authentic Italian meal. Recommended!

Located off the main streets, this little eating house/pub is great for old and traditional cuisine. The tabled dined on a variety of plates and there was no disappointment. I would have to visit a number of times to get through the many plate options - on this occasion though, goulash with potato was my choice. I could have gone for the bread gnocchi or the spinach pancake, but this will have to wait for my next visit. There is a choice of six local brewed beers - the 0.5 litre lager was excellent. The restaurant is only open at night so do not expect a long lunch. There was an eclectic mix of diners from British, Germans, Australians an locals. An excellent suggestion from a family member. You will not be disappointed.

What a wonderful place this is! Fabulous choice of beers including many local ones. The food was gorgeous traditional and locally sourced too. We couldnât have been made to feel anymore welcome. We were helped with the menu as it is quite rightly in Italian and given advice on our choice of beer. We only hope that we manage to squeeze in another visit before our city break ends. Thank you
