There aren't many coffee shops in Praia da Rosa so this place has a great potential market. That said, this is not your average coffee shop. It's an organic place run by earthy types, and the food strives for healthy rather than delicious tasting and/or eye catching. For example we ordered a banana milkshake. We got a glass with a little banana and a lot of farm tasting milk. Reversing the ingredient ratio (or even replacing the milk with vanilla ice cream) would have produced a much more tempting product. On the other hand we had an acai tigela (a bowl of acai fruit with granola, guarana syrup and honey.) That was a unqualified winner, worth eating for breakfast every day. We also had a ham and cheese grilled sandwich. It was a skinny affair, very light on ham and cheese. The ham was also the manufactured âparticle boardâ ham that you find in Brazilian supermarkets; I would have expected something more organic. (Brazilians call ham âpresuntoâ a word which in neighboring Spanish happens to mean âallegedâ. I find that rather fitting for their typical packaged ham â the package may allege itâs real ham but itâs not.) We also had some cakes - chocolate and apple - which were simple but tasty. To drink I had an espresso which reminded me of Turkish coffee, seriously dark with grind leftover â a serious energy jolt. The place also serves lunch fare â vegan hamburgers and the like but for regular diet folks itâs probably a better fit for tea or breakfast (donât expect American style breakfast though â eggs and bacon type stuff.) Bottom line: You may have to navigate the menu carefully but there are some definite keepers with universal appeal here. Couple that with a nice veranda seating area and service by folks who clearly believe in what they do and you have a worthwhile place to visit.

This restaurant is on the main Praia do Rosa street and tries to tap the tourist traffic going by it (when you drive by it you often see a man at the door waving the people passing by to come in.) The restaurant itself is a basic shack, most seating is outside. The place operates on lean staffing (one cook/waiter, one helper when we went.) They try hard, are friendly and offer decent food and drinks at fair prices. On our last lunch visit we had two Thai shrimp risottos (in one we substituted mushrooms for shrimp to make it vegetarian). The risotto comes in a half pineapple shell, it is tasty and abundant. For drinks we had a soda and a fruit juice. Bottom line: the place surely won't win awards for fancy ambiance or Michelin stars for its food but it hits the spot for a quick meal beyond fast food, (especially at lunchtime when the food choices at Praia da Rosa are significantly slimmer.)

The shrimp pasteis are awesome. Also the fries (different for sure from what you know). Prices a little high 'cause of the location. And the view... just perfect! Recommended.

The restaurant is under new management (Sep / 18), with a diversified menu, with typical foods of the region and a varied vegetarian and vegan menu. In the bar we have a special and special drinks menu of the house, bringing a harmonization to our dishes.

Omg.... This restaurant is a gem!Not sure were to start: the view is absolutely fanstastic, the staff is very nice (especially Regis who made our night - attentive without being too 'sticky', very helpful, high quality service). The food was very sophisticated without being pretencious. Pricey but definitely 100% worth it!

I was told this place is good to visit at the sundown hour. However our dinner was schedule for 9 PM and I did not see anything special. It has a difficult access although well signaled. The dishes are made for 2 people and very expensive. However the quality of food is very good. My choice is pulp. The ambient and service is poor.

We ate here several times as we were staying in the hotel (this restaurant is part of Pousada Vida Sol e Mar). The food was excellent. The fillet mignon with mushroom sauce and rosti was superb, as was the salmon with balsamic sauce and the plaice. They also do a pretty good caipirinha too. The chocolate brownie was a masterpiece! There is also live music at weekends. We did eat at other places in Praia do Rosa, but this was by far the best food. Highly recommended and definitely worth trying if you're staying in the area.

The brazillian flavor! High quality food and service with great atmosphere. Try our Bobós, Moquecas & Seafood Risotos!
A lovely fusion meal - Brazilian style stew with rice and other side dishes. The restaurant is part of a hotel & it's not sign posted as the restaurant - and your car will be parked away from the main spot. Dear customer , the Restaurante Urucum thank review ! May we return to new experiences with us! Att. Restaurante Urucum Team.

Discovering the unique architecture of this hillside bistro will keep you amused and wide eyed while you wait for your dinner. And it is delicious. The casquinha de Siri as an appy followed by the Pernil de Gamboa with an inexpensive Brazilian CabSav makes for a delightful dining experience, especially when seated on the outdoor deck. In the rain. Thank you for your rating. We are happy that you liked it.

Excellent food and outstanding quality. It's a small, informal and very charming restaurant and chef and staff are highly motivated. Service was very friendly and attentive. We ate there every night of our stay at Praia do Rosa. And we noticed other parties doing exactly the same.
