This time it was a big surprise for my wife's 55 th anniversary. I managed discretely with our 4 children-families to come and surprise mother at "Kromme Elleboog". Reservations were made with my choice of the menu for all of us: 10 adults and 2 grand-children. They had a small children menu, and we had a supreme fish menu with shrimps and brill. As dessert it was the Chef's own super ice-cream ! A fantastic moment in our lifes. Attention: best make reservations.

We went for family lunch. The service is friendly and efficient. The vibe is nearly glamorous. The food (fish, salad special, children's hamburgers) however was of mediocre quality compared to other places we went to. We would return for drinks and snacks.

We just went in without knowing it. We had dinner and it was just nice. Service was very kind and friendly and the view over the beach was great.The prices are - even valuating the quality - are a bit too high. It is pricey there in general, but I find them debatable still. If you can ignore that, you have an enjoyable to have a drink or food.

When we arrived, the staff was all over the place and it wasn't even that busy.We ordered mussels - because you have to eat them when you're at the coast :) Unfortunately they were not good.. They were undercooked, not very tasteful and the amount was too small. I had to send them back 3 times and finally they were cooked properly. We paid â¬26 voor the mussels.... terrible.

Way back in the 1920s, Den Toogoloog was an old-fashioned butchery, and not too much later it became a beerhouse or pub without doing away with the old butcheryâs charm or authenticity. Nowadays, Den Toogoloog is a popular place in Middelkerke where peopl
We had Friday afternoon drinks outside in the very pleasant courtyard. The staff really made us feel welcome as did the other guests. The beer menu is interesting and a real plus is the very clear way it's laid out. Snacks were pretty standard but well presented and up to the mark.

the restaurant is convenient located a few steps from the coast-tram from Ostend;but parking is also available nearby;we appreciate the very friendly reception and the attentive service of Heidi and Christine;they always take into account special requirements,but even the low-salt fish dishes were very tasteful, thanks to an excellent seasoning mix,this reveals a high professional skill of the chief cook Patrick, giving always such artful presentations, with creativity and excellent variations;the appropriate wines and champagne, were chosen by the sommelier Gino from the Vinotheek, giving a finishing touch to a fantastic meal in a relax atmosphere;

There's nothing to improve here, what a lovely experience! The food was divine, the attention to detail spot on, and the service was superb! The host is exceptionally friendly and courteous. Top team here! We definitely recommend and whenever we're back at the coast, we will visit again.

We went here on a friday evening. I called on beforehand telling we would bring a 1yo child. This was no problem. When we arrived, they installed us in a quiet area, close to a childs play zone.We first had tapas, excellent, home made. After that i had lamb steak. Nice fresh salad, good meat. My wife had the goat cheese salad which also looked delicious.The bill was 62 euro in total, we both had 2 drinks. This is an excellent price quality ratio.we will be back

We had a gastronomic diner, including wine, voucher for two. Based on the good reviews we decided to try this restaurant at the Belgian coast. What a discovery and what a treat. From the many small one-bite appetizers presented by pairs over the starter through the main dish and the fine dessert we enjoyed one culinary surprise after the next. With every dish we received a clear appealing description of what to expect. Additionally we were presented excellent wines in perfect harmony with each dish and the very friendly sommelier talked us through each wine (which was almost a trip around the world on its own). Wonderfull experience in a nice setting. Worth mentioning are also the freshly baked selection of loafs (about 8 different tastes to choose from) as well as the wide selection of home-made one-bite sweets that came as a surprize to the coffees we ordered to close off a wonderfull lunch.This restaurant deserves a Michelin star ! We will certainly be back !

Wanting to take pictures of the magnificent sunset on Ostendâs waterfront, we diverted from our usual route of turning right onto the promenade and turned left instead, towards the sun. We were looking for somewhere to eat and found this charming little restaurant called Othello. We were given some very tasty tapenade and fresh bread as a taster to begin with, as standard to have with our drinks. Then onto the starter. To say that the scallops I had were the most delicious and tender Iâve ever had would be an understatement. They were utterly superb.We then went onto mussels in white wine for me, and beef for my husband. The mussels were divine, and my husband reports that the meat was really tender and tasty.Dessert was Creme Brûlée for him and ice cream for me. Both absolutely delicious. We would highly recommend this restaurant. It would be advisable to book ahead. We had not booked, and they did accommodate us, but it was full. An absolute gem of a find and we would come again. It is pricey, but we donât mind paying for quality. For drinks and three courses each the bill amounted to about â¬120.00.The service was good too and the owners very attentive. Given that the position of the restaurant is a little bit away from the main thoroughfare, it was full nevertheless, and worthy of walking just that little but further west to find it. There is a step up from the pavement, but if someone were being pushed in a wheelchair I think the wheelchair could be lifted up the step. One couple had a little dog with them who had its own seat. They allow well behaved dogs into restaurants in Belgium. Not sure if they all do, but Iâve noticed a number of them seem to allow it.
