Based on the photos, we imagined a mountain chalet. Nope. It's on a well traveled road that is pretty noisy. There were horses tied in the courtyard when we arrived while their riders had drinks nearby. The proximity seemed to close to dining. Food was good and reasonably priced. Granted we had the mixed grill menu, so it's hard to go wrong. If you're staying near the Lesse, it's worth a go, but I wouldn't travel to eat here. madame, monsieur, nous vous remercions pour le commentaire très positif que vous avez posté sur le site tripadvisor.

There are 64 restaurants listed in Dinant. It's not luck whether you'll enjoy your meal. But we stumbled upon the jack pot with this place. Excellent and helpful service was a plus. But the creme de la resistance was the steak. OMG. So good I'm still thinking about it days later. Ok - the setting might not be as pretty as other restaurants in Dinant, but you'll forget this as soon as you tuck into your steak on your own hot rock. Salivatingly good. Go there.

28 euros for a bowl of mussels and chips is ridiculous especially when the lobster bisque they're supposed to be served in is just a very salty stock. Baked potato, first one cold, second one not cooked through. Rushed staff, cramped tables and a general canteen atmosphere which didn't justify the 68 euros bill for two. This included two mussels with chips/potato, a bottle of water and one glass of house wine. I'm sure Dinant has better options than this, especially at this price.

This restaurant was recommended to us by the owner of the house we were staying in at Dinant, and she wasn't wrong! With the additional benefit of being less than a mile away from where we were staying (and therefore we could walk there), Wiertz overlooks the River Meuse. There was never any doubt that we were going to have the mussels here, but the place is clearly popular for its other dishes. We went on a Tuesday evening, and the place was getting close to full.We ordered our mussels (not having a starter), and sipped a glass of draught Leffe until the food arrived. If I had any criticism, it would be that the food did take quite a while to arrive - but the quality of the meal totally made up for this. The quantity of mussels was great. And the amount of fresh vegetables (and you could certainly tell that they were fresh) which were in the same pot was really quite unusual, and very welcoming. The chips were very good too. All in all, one of the best moules frites I have ever eaten.Needless to say, after all that food, we did not have a dessert.I would thoroughly recommend the restaurant.

We found the staff to be very friendly and helpful. Walking into the restaurant, we noticed a guest's steak and chips - we were sold!Starters were excellent - I had the linguine vongole - and it was almost a main course in itself. Steak, although a little chewy, was full of flavour, and with an excellent side salad in addition to the chips. Well worth a visit.

Second time I visited and did not like it anymore. We were with a party of foreign scientists for a late dinner but did not feel welcome. Food was so-so and the setting in the backroom is not great like the seating in front. The worst was the service by a strong madam clearly trying to work as little as possible on serving us.

What a wonderful restaurant. Very relaxed atmosphere. The waitress was extremely helpful, chatty and friendly. Our food was amazing. I had the scampi brochette to start followed by filet of roebuck. Both cooked to perfection. Filet was accompanied by sweet apple with redcurrent sauce, pureed celeriac and a small potato, all flavours complimented the filet brilliantly. The only disappointment was that I was too full to eat dessert. Would recommend this restaurant to anyone.
