Food here is good - barbecue and the sides. Fun variety of sodas. Not much in the way of atmosphere (it's in an old KFC building). Didn't have time to try the frozen custard. Definitely a good place to go - if you're not on a date or something.

Had burnt ends. Wife had brisket. The burnt end were not the best ever but they were very good. Wife said about the same for the brisket. Sides were very good. Service was great. Very solid BBQ joint. Would go back without hesitation.

Oh man, I love this place! Good soul food is (strangely enough) difficult to find here in the St. Louis / Southern IL part of the country. Lovettâs is a diamond in that rough. All their soul food is made the right way; if you were raised on it, youâll see what I mean. You ought not to eat here without trying two things in particular: snoots with honey barbecue sauce(very similar to chicharrón) and fried corn on the cob, covered in garlic and Parmesan cheese. Odd things to put on corn, but after trying it, Iâm hooked and Iâll ask for it every time I come back from now on.We hope to see you again when you're back in the area!
