It is the principal city of the Wichita Falls Metropolitan Statistical Area, which encompasses all of Archer, Clay, and Wichita Counties. According to the 2010 census, it had a population of 104,553, making it the 35th-most populous city in Texas. Itâs not your traditional pile of ribs or brisket on a plate with sauce dumped on top. Itâs quick and reasonably price food. Not your traditional sit down bbq like weâve had all over Texasâand weâve been to a lot of them. Ordered a bologna sandwich with onions, because you donât see it often. It was good. Not much of a sauce but the meat was moist. My husbands brisket sandwich was delicious. Again minimal sauce just meat. Priced at $5.50 it was a deal. Saw the banana pudding, pimiento cheese, coleslaw and potato salad. They didnât blow my socks off but I donât order them usually anyway. The smoker sits right outside the building. Great for take out. Itâs a very little mini mart of sorts. Sells chips, pickled okra etc. Iâll go for the brisket next time.

In a "seen better days" area of downtown Wichita Falls is this great local spot. Known by many but bypassed in time, there is curb service brisket and fried chicken and inside service with a complete tacky decor. Any place that sticks one dollar bills on the ceiling I consider tacky. What is not tacky is the brisket plate, one of the best I have ever had in Texas- which is something to say. Also this is home of the Red draw, a beer tribute to the nearby red river I am guessing. Family friendly. Bikers and tattoos, but still not a rough joint. Great find. I will never understand why a chain like Jason's deli ranks number 2 in Wichita Falls with competition like the Bar L BBQ.

I don't like chain restaurants in general and that goes double for chain BBQ joints. But we stopped here because it was close to our hotel and there was no waiting. I had a combo or St Louis ribs with their take on Carolina Vinegar sauce. The sauce was outstanding, the ribs were really good. I had a small order of the sausage which tasted like a brand from the grocery store. The fries were battered and very good as well. The fried okra would have been great if they were hot. Overall, it was a great experience. I would not hesitate eating there or another Rib Crib in the future.

This is one place in Wichita Falls where I can get a burger OR some barbecue. So, today, I decided to get both. The cheeseburger had a pretty good flavor, with the cheese melting perfectly against the meat, topped with my choice of fresh vegetables. Good fries on the side, and they leave the skins on. I also got the chopped beef sandwich, which was good but not better than some places, as the beef is soaked in a zesty sauce. To be fair, I'll need another visit to try their barbecue meats, which the staff members do recommend. They've also got good onion rings, deep-fried with just the right amount of breading. Although this hamburger was not bad at all, it can compete well with other burger specialists in town. Come on in and do as I did, and try this fine local favorite. It's convenient on the city's south side.

If you are looking for genuine BBQ, you wonât be disappointed with the Branding Iron!Driving through town at lunch, we were looking for a local place and found it. Definitely not a picturesque part of town, but the food is worth the drive. We had ribs, brisket and chopped beef. The ribs fall of the bone tender, the brisket also was super tender. Great find.
