Interesting place to go. Nice location, and well laid out restaurant. If you want to know what you are going to eat before you get it, do not bother going here! The host was interesting and entertaining.it resulted in us paying morecforvthe meal than we would normally want to. Feltva bit like he could see you coming as a foreigner and would boost his sales without your approval. The unknown dishes kept coming, and were tasty, but doing this you have no idea when your courses start and end.

Traditional Italian food serve in a quaint environment. Pizza was not to our taste and the staff took it back without charging us.Antipasti excellent and in a huge portion.Very helpful staff that helped us with the menu. When we were there it was quite busy but the place was still enjoyable and not too noisy.

We went to this restaurant based upon TA reviews and the hotel recommendation and were not disappointed. The food and service were both very good and the prices very reasonable...the sausage and broccoli were great as well as the pasta. Dessert (tiramisu) was a bit disappointing.I would go back!

We just returned from a 16 day tour of Italy in five different places and out of all this restaurant had the most gorgeous atmosphere. The outside dinning is just exquisite and lovely. I highly recommend eating outside in the evening. The lights are just lovey. The food is also delicious. The lamb skewers are so good - we ended up placing three additional orders! And the mojito risotto was mouth watering. The wine was also so good. You must eat here if you are in a Sulmona.

The âRusticoâ Antipasto was excellent. A wide variety of different sliced meats & salamis, as well as different cheeses. I was also served with warm Bruschetta & Potato Fritters. The lamb was tasty but the steak was overdone. The decor was a bit kitschy and the lighting very bright!

We found this restaurant from a different link on tripadvisor: http://www.tripadvisor.com/Hotel_Review-g194910-d1876639-Reviews-Lo_scoiattolo-Scanno_Province_of_L_Aquila_Abruzzo.html, and thought to give it a try.It was a great experience, with wonderful food and very hospitable hosts. The grilled lamb was one of the best we had in Abruzzo! The primi plates were plentiful and very tasty. We will certainly go back there again if we are back to Scanno.

We visited the lovely town on the way to Barrea (another lovely location). It is a small restaurant that was totally empty when we entered it on a Saturday for lunch --later another two guests arrived. I am always wary of empty restaurant and started to worry, but the friendliness of the service put us immediately in a good mood. We have two small children and immediately offered to bring some toys and pencils for them. Then the food: the list in quite standard for the region, but it has excellent and also innovative ingredients. Thus traditional dishes that you can eat anywhere become truly exceptional! the 'antipasto' and the 'primi' are a collection of delicacies, portions are generous. We had the house wine, which was extremely inexpensive (I believe around 5 euros for half a litre!) and perfectly drinkable. If I have to find a problem it is the fact that we changed our itinerary and came back to Pettorano just to discover that in July they are for lunch only during the weekend.

La Foce has great food in a very casual atmosphere, large screen TV for watching Soccer games, nothing fancy. Wood fired oven for great pizza (in evenings). The pasta is fantastic, try the Carbonara and the "Cazzillitti" con le foglie. When ordering in Italy always order one item for two people, servings are usually large.Seems to be a popular place with locals especially when a soccer game is on, so make a reservation if possible.

On the recommendation of our innkeeper, we tried La Baita for dinner one night. The pizza was terrific and the house wine was delicious. Service was so-so, but it got busy shortly after we arrived And we had wine, so we were ok with that.
