Craft House

We picked this place at random while visiting on Staten Island, and struck gold. Great friendly service, with a fun and interesting menu. I tried the Brisket has and eggs, which had delicious lumps of and-cut brisket in among the potatoes, onions and peppers. I started with a salad, which was clean den fresh, and had plenty of dressing on the side. Best if you are not driving is that they have a lot of craft brews you can get — if you are driving, do what I did, and get a 64oz growler to-go so you can partake once you have hung up your car keys for the day.

I always come here for a burger and a beer. You just can't beat the quality of food here. It's better than some of the other places around.

Daddy O's

So as a native Staten Islander who married into the military I try to get back home at least a few times a year. A friend goes to daddy o's it seems at least once a week and always posts food porn photos on FB. So I knew we had to visit! We went to the location down on Bay Street. Parking is a hassle seeing they don't have a lot but I got a spot on the street and found out they do have valet. My family met my friend and her family there and the music was really loud so it was difficult to really hold a conversation. Lots of choices for food. I went with Mac n cheese with pulled pork and grilled chicken. My one son got a burglar and my other ribs. My friend got chicken and waffles sliders, fried pickles and her son got ribs. So the major problem we encountered was the time it took for our food to come. The place was not busy/crowded and it was a 45 minute till our food came out. We had to ask our server twice why our food was not ready yet the booth in front and behind us were served, ate and left even though we were there and ordered before they even got there. So the staff should be retrained on how to keep customers updated on their orders. So the other issue was one persons order came out 15 minutes before everyone else. Again all the food should come out together, my son loved his burger my other son loved his ribs. My mac n cheese with pulled pork was good but a tad bit dry because they kept it in the salamander way too long. The bowl was nuclear hot, so hot the Mac n cheese was burnt on the bottom of the bowl. My friends chicken and waffles sliders the chicken was so over fried it was inedible. My friend told the server offered another one but we commend we did not have time to wait. Should have been taken off the bill but was not. Again training needed. Finally got the check and the poor girl split the check wrong...twice The food was good, the service subpar. Glad we went but won't be back.
