Fabulous! Our YMT tour guide highly recommended this family owned eating establishment for top notch BBQ and we are so glad he did! We had the beef brisket sandwich and it was delicious and tender! The fries and cole slaw were tasty and homemade! The portions were ample--the soda pop is big enough for two! The service is friendly and fast!

Outside of my spouse's excellent barbeque, this is the best I have had eating out in years. We each got the two-meat lunch and there were plenty of leftovers.Black Jaxx is only open during the summer, and although they list their closing time as 6:30 pm, they start to sell out by 2:00 pm most days. Get there early or call ahead to make sure you get some. The ribs were the highlight of the lunch with a perfect smoke ring and a nice pull to the meat. All of the meat is smoked and served with sauce on the side. The meats are smoked overnight or from early in the morning, and no liquid smoke touches these dishes. The baked beans, made by Nikki, the Queen of Beans, were so good. While beans tend to be a default side at BBQ joints, made as plate-filler with little regard for quality, these beans were stars in their own right. Treat yourself to some real BBQ and stop by Black Jaxx before they close up shop at the end of the summer.

Arrived at drive up just before closing. Not much of selection so tried the brisket. Very tender and tasty. Went well with delicious sides of coleslaw and beans. It's kind of expensive but BBQ usually is. Will definitely try more items while they're open this summer.

First place that I have been to that actually BBQ's the chicken! Other places just cook the chicken and give you BBQ sauce! Great price with a coupon too! Just a side shack but not small in taste or quality! I will go there again!
