Dear Costumers: The restaurant "Caldeirao Verde" opened its doors to the public at 24-06-2015. The space it's still very new but we've been in this business for almost 30 years. We chose to serve traditional food being one of our specialities the famous "
Like several other reviewers we ate lunch here on our Lido tour 'East tour'. We thought the food was great and the value was excellent. We had pre ordered and our table was ready for the 5 of us. The soup soon arrived accompanied by some delicious bread and this was followed by our choice of main. I had black scabbard fish - espada, which was delicious, my partner chose chicken skewers - a very generous portion and our guide had espetadas - an even more generous portion. The mains were accompanied by a variety of vegetables, chips, rice and salad red wine and water. There was also a choice of desserts which we all enjoyed. This was a real bargain and a proper Madeiran meal. Very much recommended.

What a treat before and after the levada hike. Coffee shop is right by the start and finish of the levada. They sell sandwiches and cakes and hot food. We treated ourselves to a cake on return and all the cakes are homemade. Recommend the passion fruit cheesecake. Coffee is good but they specialise in hot chocolates of many wonderful varieties. A real little gem and staff are really friendly. You're also able to park on the forecourt and leave your car whilst walking the levada.
