I've been on a Korean BBQ Spree with my girlfriend the past two months and this was one we've been meaning to try since its quite popular and has recently been in some social media frenzy due to some known showbiz personnel that mentioned negative things about it. (sorry, I have no comment on that) The place is easy to find, its around our area and we've been passing it frequently, also heard some pretty mixed reviews about it, so I guess its only fair to share my own thoughts. The place is a little aged, it can use a little bit of renovation and cleaning. but if you're after a good Samgyeopsal fix, this is pretty decent. Now, I wouldn't say I am an expert but we've tried some fairly popular ones in the metro and in Seoul so I'll just share my thoughts and you can have a go at it yourself. First, you might get turned off with the idea that the "ssamjang" (side dishes) will only be refilled once with only a choice of two, second the lettuce is non-refillable (but only 50 pesos for a second order). We had two orders of Samgyupsal (Korean Pork Belly) so we were given two servings of the lettuce and told that we can refill the sides twice choosing any two. Bottom line, the servings were adequate, so in reality we only asked to refill once and only ordered a second serving of lettuce once as well. Their red bean paste is very tasty, tastier than all the others we've had locally and distinctively the same as the ones we've had in Korea. I need to mention as well that their BBQ is cooked in coal and not with the gas burners others have and for me this is always a plus. The service isn't bad. I found the staff and the owners (I believe they were the owners? - The two Korean Ladies) were actually very attentive and were even hands on in delivering where the regular staff could not. Its just the place that needs a bit of a renovation to keep up with the times I guess? Pricewise, their BBQ meats aren't expensive, the extras we're more used to, are something you'd have to pay extra for (Like the red bean soup)I wouldn't say no to this place if I didn't have the option to eat in the other places I've been. If your into Samgyupsal this is a place you should try to give fair comparison to other places as well. So considering the food, the service, the atmosphere and value what you get for your money, its not BAD but its not the BEST for me.

With elevated chloresterol levels, my visit to Racks is spaced...out. And when I do come in, I always expect the "falling off the bones" beef ribs. My last visit was as usual, satisfying, making the popular slogan "Where's tje beef" take a different turn. The beef has fallen off the bones, Mate, and no complaints here i so far as texture, flavor and aroma are concerned.Only a real Texas barbecue at Golden Corral in Dallas comes close. Of course, the beef servings there are all you can eat. Back to Pueblo's Racks, however, a serving of half a slab of beef ribs is sufficient to fill the hunger and fulfill a month's supply of cholesterol that requires a regimented ritual of Amoldipine and Lipitor. But hey, if life cannot be lived to the fullest at least once a month, then I have a beef with gastronomics and health advocates.Racks at El Pueblo is a standalone (not mall setting restaurant) and is the only close to fine dining one can have in that place of the sun in Ortigas Center, an island of fast food dining establishments where the Racks is King.Service is great and the food servers are customer friendly, ready with the bibs and eating paraphernalia. If you do come here weekdays, either be early before lunch or an hour after since parking is limited.

Bring an appetite. They bring you a platter of chicken and your choice of 4 sides. The flatbread personal pizzas are pretty good as well. The chicken is pretty good actually, the side dishes were lackluster but edible. However, I did enjoy the flatbread pizza. Overall, the meal was good, but not something that I would run to the far end of an island to get. I mean, after all, its chicken....nothing special, just chicken.

Had lunch with my family here last Sunday (Nov6). True enough they have affordable ribs. Their budget meal (ribs with 2 side dishes), costs only around P700. We also ordered crispy fish and chips, ceasar salad (shrimp) and their house iced tea. For me, the taste is good; though my husband said there's an after taste to it. Overall, if you want affordable ribs, this is the go-to place.

Discretely tucked away in a predominantly residential area, Masil serves large portions of authentic Korean food. There were 10 people in our party and they accommodated us without batting an eye. The menu offers a variety of choices and out table was crowded with entrees and side dishes. Service was attentive without being obtrusive and our requests were promptly satisfied, even second and third orders of the dishes that were consumed most rapidly. I've never been a fan of Korean food, but Masil could easily change my preferences. Also worth noting that parking was abundant even on a rainy Friday evening.

The selection is good and the taste is splendid too. Good service, reasonably priced and located in a very strategic location. Even though it is a Korean restaurant, 90% of the customers are local and this means they have done very effective marketing programme. Staff are attentive and the place is neat and tidy too.
