Although I don’t live in Augusta...or anywhere close by for that matter...I have eaten here twice within the past month! The 1st time, my husband and I were visiting August so I researched Trip Advisor and chose this place based on reviews. This past weekend I was just ‘passing thru’ and went out of my way to go there.1st visit was on a Thursday and Brisket was the special. Tender, moist and flavorful. My hubby had the pulled pork and said it was delicious, too.2nd visit was on a Saturday and I had a 1/2 rack of ribs and enjoyed those as well. There are two dining rooms, lots of parking and a DRIVE-THRU pick up lane!

The wait staff was nice and polite, greeted us with open arms and smiles. Live band in the back area, where we were seated. We visited the restaurant for late dinner around 9pm. It was a cafeteria style setup with a server, where the food was in steamed metal containers like a buffet. We ordered off the menu, which I am pretty sure it comes from the buffet in the front of the shop. Unfortunately with the late hour several items were not available, but that is not a fault on their part. I truly do not expect BBQ restaurants to still have a boat load of greens, mac'n cheese and yams at 9pm. The food we did order was decent, but not anything spectacular to the palette. I will try again but earlier in the day next time. I will write a second review, because we came so late in the evening. I want to be fair in my opinion of any place I have visited. The live band was good, too bad the back area is a bit small. I know in some historic downtown's space is at a premium and you may not be able to expand an existing bldg or build one of your own. So I am not going to place any blame on the owners for not having more space. Currently, there is free parking around the area. The location is on 10th street and ellis street. I say try it out for yourself and give an honest review.

What a great experience!! We had a super server (I think Jordan was her name). We tasted hash, collared greens and mac n cheese. Then, we had our meals which were great. Beautiful setting with outdoor decks overlooking river. Great place all around!!
