Family owned Texas style BBQ restaurant. Everything is made fresh every day. We only smoke with oak wood, low & slow! Now open from Wednesday to Sunday, 11am to 3pm. Drive thru and expanded evening hours coming soon!

I have been to Smoking Oak many times. I love the ribs and my husband enjoys the brisket and sausage. Consistently great food every time we go and a great selection of sides. Staff are friendly & very helpful. Restaurant is clean. A very enjoyable dining experience! Also, love the new restaurant addition and expanded parking lot.

My husband and I went to South Texas for vacation in Dec.... Decide to try a different place to eat in Mercedes... A small restaurant north of Mercedes.Had a pull pork sandwich and it was fantastic! Try the brisket.... Even better. Reasonable prices.....I recommend it!Didn't take a picture this time around but sure will when we visit again in a few months!

Was hesitant ordering the bake potato with meat but it was big enough to split. VERY good food. Been there twice in week.BBQ sauce is a bit spicy and I like a bite, so I order sweet. Actually the meat is excellent without any sauceThis picture does no justice for size of potato. It is at least 9 inches. It is topped with lean chopped brisket. That is sandwich also.Thanks for the friendly review! We're so glad you loved it and can't wait to serve you again soon

While visiting Texas we make sure to visit as many authentic Texas BBQ places we can and this one did not disappoint. The building and grounds look authentic old Texas Ranch country. The inside is dark and had the wonderful aroma of roasting meats. Various BBQ meats were offered: Beef, pork chicken, and Brisket, Ribs, sausage and fajitas. Combos and sides were available. The bark on the brisket and ribs was perfect; thin crisp outside with moist flavorful meat inside. Flavorful simply prepared rice and beans were a nice accompaniment. Beer and soft drinks were available.This was a casual restaurant. Order at the counter than pick up your food and eat at massive wood tables.

It was rated #1 in Weslaco. The hours were not as stated on the Tripadvisor site. The atmosphere was not exactly what I would rate as #1. Very average.
