While passing through Marshall and craving barbecue, we made our first-ever visit to Bodacious BBQ. Their chopped beef was delicious; cooked and seasoned just right. The coleslaw was very good too. Like many of the best barbecue joints, Bodacious is plain and simple; donât expect fancy ambiance. Our only complaint was the lack of variety in sides; they only offer three. A self-serve drink machine, as opposed to bottled drinks, would be appreciated too. If you want delicious Texas-style barbecue, give Bodacious a visit.

Best of Texas is the best barbecue around. Doni and his wife, Marianne are gracious hosts. Great little place in the country, but not that far from town. I have had the 4 meat platter and the barbecue brisket burrito. Great home made bbq sauce that is also available for sale. I sneak out there for lunch as often as I can, but they're only open on Thursday thru Saturday: 11-7 or until sold out, and I think they usually sell out. I live on one side of town and Best of Texas is on the other side with plenty of other bbq joints in between, but it's well worth the drive. Can't wait to go back- I want to try their beef and pork sandwiches! I wouldn't DREAM of having any other barbecue around here because Best of Texas is just that : THE BEST.

Got to be careful at this restaurant, the Brown Pig sandwich will get you addicted in a hurry. The sandwiches are a little on the smaller side but they are over the top with a unique flavor. We also indulged in their homemade coconut pie, again an exceptional experience. Well worth the drive and try not to get addicted.

Probably one if the worst meals Iâve had in a long time. Ribs were almost meatless and their turkey was like deli turkey from the grocery store. No refill on my drink - so go a little further down the road to another bbq place. Youâll be glad you did.

Saw reviews on another site, not Tripadvisor, and this place had raves. Having passed this cafe several times by taking a shortcut through Marshall, I decided to stop and check it out.Service was friendly. I had read about the wonderful lunch specials, so I asked; no lunch specials. We ordered a rib plate and a brisket plate and shared. We were in agreement that the brisket was better than the ribs. However, nothing was outstanding. Based on the reviews that sent me there, I was disappointed. The food was okay, but not outstanding,a little expensive for the quality and the quantity.Nothing to set this place apart from the ubiquitous places that serve Q.
