Things to do in Marangu
The Summit restaurant offers live cooking, a mix of charcoal and flame grilled BBQ meats, Pizza and tasty flavor filled meals
We went to this restaurant to have a drink and a light dinner. The terrasse is really nice with a nice view at night. They had a live concert this night which made it even more enjoyable. We arrived around 7:30pm and placed the order around 7:45. The server was pretty quick to bring one beer then disappeared 10-15 minutes before bringing the pineapple juice. About an hour later, they came back with the first dish, a piece of meat with potato chips. We donât know what took them so long since the barbecue was on the terrasse and that all the meat was already cooked. It took them another 30-45 minutes to bring us the second dish, a cold, tasteless pizza. The servers are very very slow even when youâre the only customers on the terrasse. Definitely not a place to go if you want to eat quickly. I would recommend the place not the restaurant. There are far better restaurants in this area which serve quickly and have a better quality / price ratioDear Romaric, thank you for visiting the Rooftop Bar & Grill, please accept my sincere apology for your recent experience with us. Please be assured that all your feedback will be used to improve our service. We are glad that you enjoyed the place itself and we hope to welcome you back soon for a different experience. Kind Regards, Michael
Kilimanjaro Safaris Lodge restaurant located on the outskirts of Moshi town in an area called Shanty town. Contrary to popular belief, 'Shanty' is the shabby side of town. However, in Moshi it's the posh side of town. The air is clean, lots of trees and b

Glacier is the place to be on a Friday night out in Moshi. Not everybody likes it there but they do have a cool vibe. The fact that it is outdoors gives it a fresh feel. There are 2 bars, one for cocktails and another one for "regular drinks". They play all types of music from African/Tanzania beats to European house, American rap, etc. So if you don't like a song, it won't last for too long. Plus they have very good grilled chicken for those showing up early for dinner or for late-night hungers.Good to remember that the "real party" never really starts before midnight. Which sucks if you don't want to go to bed too late. But oh well, you can sleep on Saturday instead.

This place is legit. It's literally down an alley and wouldn't really be noticed except that it's packed with people, all of whom are local. Today they were watching football (English Premier League and also the Tanzanian league). In one corner there is a counter and behind it people are cooking chicken and goat. You order it (Swahili is helpful) and they build you a plate and then bring it to your table (you can order beers at the table). A friend and I had 500g of goat and half a chicken and it was amazing (and cost roughly USD4). Everything was tender and delicious. It was served with some carrots and cucumbers and some hot salsa. No cutlery, you just eat with your fingers. It was also possible to have rice and there were definitely other dishes on the menu but I was more than content with the tasty meat.

Street BBQ right outside of Kindoroko hotel. Chicken Tandouri - $2/ Shawama Chicken - $2.50/ Mishikaki (Kebabs) - $0.30/ Zanzibar pizza - $0.60. I get my food there and take it up to the top of Kindoroko to eat. You can also eat it at the bar in Kindoroko hotel. The food is safe - have eaten from here maybe 20 times and never had problems (you have to be careful when eating from street bbqs in Tanzania). The Mishikaki are a bit salty but the Zanzibar pizza blows your mind. They start up the fires about 4pm. If Kilimanjaro is in full view, food from here and a drink at the top of Kindoroko is a Moshi must.

A BBQ meat fest a well appointed restaurant with a range of food set in the Lutheran Uhuru Hostel Complex, Prices vary on what you want from snacks to full BBQ buffet. Service good in the restaurant area but poor in the open garden eating area. There is a
The lush park location is one of the finest in Moshi, and the open roofed seating space very nice. I have frequented the place numerous ties the past 8 years, and the quality of barbecue served ranges from delicious to hardly palatable. Complaining helps sometimes.Service is always friendly but speed and quality vary. One of the place's specialties, ginger tea, is highly recommended.

A home for a recreation centre.
Went to this place with 5 friends to wrap up a week of hard work. The service was attentive and pleasant, and the beer was cold. The food was very tasty and well served... I had the ugali with fish... which was excellent. The barbecue and grilled stuff smelled excellent, although I did not get to try it :( ... anyhow, nice place. The only serious complaint was that the food did take quite a while to arrive, like nearly an hour, even though the place was not terribly busy.

Pamoja Cafe, home to "Moshi's Best Burgers", is a chilled out and funky Rasta Bar, serving great local and western food, cold beer and cocktails. Located in the heart of Moshi, close to several hotels and hostels, Pamoja is a favourite spot for locals, ex
This is a quaint lovely cafe with pretty good food.Went here for a late evening awesome place!!g where the speakers were pumping out music ranging from classics to more modern songs everyone knows (lots of rap/regge/Bob Marley!). It was a great vibe and everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves. I ordered the fried chicken with salad, served with chips and the food is tasty offering both western and Tanzanian dishes. There was only one guy serving everyone so service was slow, but he did a good job considering how busy they were.I couldn't recommend anywhere in Moshi more if you want a nice relaxed more budget atmosphere, excellent staff, not too expensive and easy stop food if you need something quick but tasty is PAMOJA CAFE. If you visit night time take same precaution. The cafe located on New Street around the corner from Kindoroko Hotel is a great place to hang out and watch the life of Moshi walk by.
