Tourist trap restaurant with service that is only interested in you when you are considering eating there - when you are captive, service was awful. To add insult to injury they wouldn't let my child revisit the toilet 30 mins after we'd left as they had 'cleaned it' ffs :( very poor - avoid. We are really sorry for the situation that happened last night. Also we need to apologize for the behaviour of our employee and we will offer you a dinner if you want to, of course on the house. With all due respect, manager of Zagora restaurant.

I am planning my trip to Makarska again this year and loking forward to visiting Gajeta for few times more. I was delighted with meat plate which was huge and super tasty. As the waiter explained, they grill it on natural charcoal barbecue, which I could also taste myself. The smell was also amazing. Price was very reasonable. I am goint for meat plate again and planning on ordering fish plate, as well. I saw it on the table next to us and it looked amazing!

Have you ever tried to find a perfect place with a cozy natural atmosphere, hearty food, unpretentious service and great sunset; where you feel relaxed and overwhelmed with simple pleasures? Well, your quest might be over :) When you're in neighborhood st
Weâd not had a bad experience on our holiday in Croatia but broke one of our rules in choosing a restaurant that wasnât particularly busy. There were 3 of us, my wife had pork stuffed with ham and cheese, my son had chicken escalope and chips and I had the Hawaii pizza. The food arrived fairly promptly and straight away my wife commented that her food was only warm, not hot. As she began to eat it she noticed that some of the pork wasnât properly cooked. She looked at the rest and whilst the majority was cooked there were some sections that werenât. As sheâd had a previous bad experience with undercooked pork she is always ultra-cautious and decided not to continue eating it. After weâd finished eating (my pizza was ok, some of the cheese had a really strong taste) we mentioned to the waiter about the pork. He apologised and said heâd speak to the kitchen staff. He returned with an explanation that it was a dish that the chef didnât like to over cook but as front of house he could only apologise. He also offered us something else on the house. We explained that we were going on a boat trip the following day but he said that she shouldnât experience any issues, it was a meal that Croatians ate regularly. We were looking forward to some desserts in the Lemon Garden as they looked delicious on the menu but weâd been left with a bad feeling so asked for the bill. When the bill came the undercooked pork dish was on there. My wife explained that we were not going to pay for that dish. There was a meeting amongst the staff and another bill was brought without that meal on it but with no further apology. We paid and left but we could sense a bit of bad feeling so it put a bit of a dampener on the night.Dear sirThank you for leaving a comment here, it is valuable to us because we are improving our service constantly. Regarding your meal, when you noticed at first that the meat wasn't cooked at your preference, you could of asked the waiter to return it on the grill, there is absolutely no problem about it. Or to bring you a new one cooked at your preference. Normally, you could have mentioned that you want the pork well done because every chef has it's own way how to cook meat (for some it would be perfect and for others totally rare, depends on a preference); especially if you had some issues with that kind of meat before. If I understood correctly your wife ate most of the dish and left only some parts; and with the explanation it wasn't properly cooked you were offered something else on the house which you refused. And than you still you got the meal off your bill at your request. We really did everything to apologise and I am very sorry you felt disappointed at the end. Regards

We ate here twice after arriving in Makarska. It is right on the port, so the views are lovely and the people watching even better. The food is good but you pay for the location. The service was very friendly, fun and professional.

Were staying close by, but was apprehensive about a eating here because of few previous poor reviews. The food is excellent, the wait staff are knowledgeable and accommodating, the alcohol list is superb with good beer and wine.Six of us dined here twice so we tried many dishes. My favorites were Octopus salad and the squid main, but the meat eaters said steaks etc were excellent, plus chicken dishes and risottos have favorable reports. If i was back in this area i would go straight back to enjoy again.

In contrast to a recent review that said âhorrible serviceâ we had just the opposite. We were a walk in, just strolling around to find somewhere for myself, my wife and daughter to eat. Pape is just 50m back from the main harbour road which is way too busy, and the square it is in is quiet. We were served by the chef/owners son who was very efficient, polite and spoke excellent English. We had 2 fish dishes and a pizza, all of which were well prepared, good cuisine and reasonably priced. Yes itâs not top-end dining, but the whole bill was less than one of the fish course mains at the Riva just 200m away. Iâd recommend this as good Mediterranean Bistro food with polite and attentive service and good value. Will probably go there again before we leave.
