We were in Lake George earlier this month and looking for a place to eat. This BBQ place popped up on Trip Advisor with really good reviews. we probably should have kept looking. To be fair i am from the south and have a picky BBQ taste. i like all kinds. vinegar, mustard and the basic red sauce. this place had pulled brisket. i dont think i have ever seen pulled brisket. normally it is sliced with no sauce. this pile came out to my wife pulled and heavily sauced. it was okay. the slaw was actually quite good. my pulled pork was also heavily sauced and was okay. my main question is why dont all bbq joints have fresh cut fries? the fries served here were frozen and not even crinkle cut. i normally follow 2 rules of BBQ. a pig on the sign and a smoker in the back that is smoking. this place had neither. i only have myself to blame for this average meal.Sorry we were only average. We offer chopped brisket as well as sliced brisket, I am surprised you didn't notice it on our menu. We normally serve natural fries but the end of the summer we got away from them because we were so busy. Last but not least we have a wooden carved pig in the front and two smokers going every day. Also, surprised as a BBQ connoisseur you didn't smell the smoke aroma.

First clue should have been when walking in on a Saturday night (7-ish) and there was one person (at the bar). Bartender\waitress was pleasant, offered drinks and gave us menus. I tried their soup special, Stuffed Green Pepper soup. The soup was hot and full of meat and peppers (no rice however??) and flavorful. That's where the enjoyment ended. My sister ordered a pulled pork sandwich and I ordered a pulled pork flatbread pizza. The food looked appetizing but eating it is what counts. First, my flatbread was the size of small square (6 inches by 6 inches) and cost $12.00. Cutting it into triangles, my first bite was into a cold slice of flatbread. I asked for it to be returned to an oven for heating. In the meantime, my sister started in on her sandwich and found the sauce to be much too sweet. She tried removing as much as possible but could only do so much. Her fries were standard restaurant depot supplied and undercooked. My pizza returned heated but I had the same complaint - too sweet! Our meals went basically untouched and we were disappointed that we wasted our time, effort and cash on this "restaurant". Try Smokey Joes down the road!
