Went here to celebrate my boyfriends 30th birthday and we were blown away. We had so many questions about the menu and the waiter so effortlessly explained each dish to us and his recommendations / house favourites. The service was impeccable and so welcoming we loved it there. The food was simply mouth watering. We had the beef tartare (strongly recommend), the duck and pork terrine and the pickled octopus and mussels for starters. For mains we had the smoked chicken and beef short ribs which melted in your mouth - both the chicken and beef were amazing and would highly recommend. Finally we had the maple syrup cake (forgot its name) but it was every bit of incredible even my boyfriend who is not a big desserts person loved it. Highly recommend eating here. The only problem you will have is trying not to order everything off the menu!

Porteno in their old location was simply brilliant for food, service and value. I have only just been to the Holt Street location.Staff are very friendly but our waitress did not understand our accents- we are Australian, and speak English and could not recommend anything re suggestions, side dishes etc . I ended up eating dried pork and burnt Brussels sprouts Portions small, food quality OK thanks to a tasty entree but the prices charged does not justify going here unfortunately. The service was so rushed that with 40 minutes left before having to leave the waitress swooped in and took our half empty wine glasses and handed us the bill. If they halved the price of everything, I would not have the same expectations.nice restaurant fit out and the place was pumping so this place clearly suits some.

Using only the freshest ingredients and cooked via an open flame, our mouth-watering menu transports diners to Brazil and beyond with every bite. Prepared by specially trained Brazilian natives, Churrascoâs unique style is in a league of its own. Enjoy!
Vegans shouldnât bother, with great respect! This is a meat loversâ paradise. We visited this establishment for an early dinner, walking in past the spits rotating with their morsels above the charcoal. Unsure of what to expect we realised this was a $45 a head, all you can eat, exercise, and a daunting prospect. We dutifully set down to try and eat our $45 worth. Easy, without even trying, really. Consider some of the top steak houses and the prices of a miserly sirloin, some around the $30+ mark. Wait staff are friendly, many with a Latino accent, and walk out the aforementioned skewers loaded with chunks, yet chunks of various meats. Spicy chicken wings, chunks of chicken thighs with various marinades, chicken hearts, steak, lamb and pork belly. Fresh-baked rolls around the size of table tennis balls, reportedly delicious. They also served a shredded beef with mushrooms, not as spectacular as the spit roasted pieces. Haloumi was charred and soft in the middle. Salads were also on offer, and plenty of them - garden salad, rocket and Parmesan, coleslaw. The offerings were plentiful. Alcohol included interesting beer selections, wines and a good selection of cocktails. We quickly filled up and waddled out of the restaurant reflecting that weâd need to fast next time to do the offerings justice - 4.5 out of five points, really - a place has to be very special to merit five points from me. Well worth a visit.
