Reviews on Barbecue food in Hockessin, Delaware, United States. Hockessin /ˈhoʊkɛsɪn/ is a census-designated place (CDP) in New Castle County, Delaware, United States. The population was 13,527 at the 2010 census. When Big D's BBQ moved to The Well Coffeehouse & Marketplace they dropped the pizza from the menu and concentrated on their signature BBQ and other sandwiches and salad. At their location, Bing's Bakery goods are also available and there is plenty of comfortable seating inside and out the location.Breakfast wraps and burritos are great, their old school Italian hoagie is off the charts with extra sharp provolone. The Pulled Pork BBQ (and sauce), BBQ Grilled Chicken, Turkey subs and Chicken Salad (all white meat) are really great too. Big D's has the Beef Brisket BBQ down to a science. Their macaroni salad with multi-colored peppers with excellent, and the potato salad, Cole Slaw and BBQ baked beans are right on too! No way this place with disappoint. I've used them for catering too. Very happy. Ice cream and coffee is available at The Well too.

"The Well Coffeehouse & Marketplace" (proper business name), is a huge log building with outside seating and comfortable inside seating that includes tables, couches and alcoves. They place the "best-of" under one roof. Bing's Bakery, Big D's BBQ & Woodside Farm Creamery Ice Cream. For breakfast my choice is the Mexican Burrito (Egg, Avocado, Refried Beans, Salsa with Sausage). The establishment is run by Trinity Church and at sometimes they have church supported activities going on like music on Sundays from noon until 2pm. Great coffee drinks! Love this place. GREAT breakfast burritos. Limited menu.

This place is awesome & doesnât fit into a normal box. The atmosphere is... good zen; casual, fun, sophisticated, un-sophisticated, almost chic but not its cooler. Good beer, good drinks, live music, games and food trucks!!! Awesome food trucks!

Perfect place to meet friends, family, coworkers or to go by yourself! Tyler's has something for everyone - great beers on tap, happy hour specials daily, brand new menu, pajama brunch on Saturdays (10% off your meal for anyone in pjs), banquet room, larg
Four years ago, we would religiously go to Tyler's on Wednesday evenings for half price burger night, Our spend without tip would be about $34.00. The waitstaff became our friends, so much so, they would know our order, our drinks and where we liked to sit. They always were so accommodating. One night we commented how the great french fries had changed, no longer crisp and hot, but some style with a flour coating to make them seem like they were crispy. And the buns for the burgers were cheep and had no taste. They used to be either onion coated, or brioche or ciabatta.According to the waitstaff, it was all due to a new Chef in charge of the kitchen. OK, we thought, we will give it a second chance returning the following week. Well that was the last time until last Wednesday night 12/14/16. Nearly two and a half years had gone by. Hankering for a burger and fries we thought we would try it again. Oh boy, what a mistake. Service apart from the food runner was inattentive and slow to non existent. Although fries were hot, the buns had not changed. The meat was good but the fake Gorgonzola cheese on the burger looked like a slice of Kraft Single white cheese and had the consistency of rubber with some fake tasting blue cheese flavoring. Easily seen as a cost savings. No soda refills, we even had to get someones attention after sitting there for 30 mins with nothing in front of us to get the bill. This experience was four rungs below pedestrian. Maybe not the same Chef in charge, but definitely not worth visiting in my experience.
