As of the 2010 United States Census, the borough's population was 11,842, reflecting an increase of 180 (+1.5%) from the 11,662 counted in the 2000 Census, which had in turn increased by 174 (+1.5%) from the 11,488 counted in the 1990 Census. An inner-ring suburb of New York City, Hasbrouck Heights is located approximately 10 miles (16 km) northwest of Midtown Manhattan and 8 miles (13 km) west of Upper Manhattan.

I'm going to find it very hard to put into words but.. I love this place. I started crossing over to it after high school every Wednesday my freshman year of high school with 10-15 guys each and every time as practically a religious practice. The wings are to die for with each and every sauce they make. The original owners were some of the nicest people you will ever meet, and the new people that have taken over are just as nice! The feel is just all around great and welcoming. While it isn't particularly a sit in kind of place I would recommend to sitting down and eating the wings fresh! However a lot of people do just come in, order, and leave. While they may be called "Chicken Shack" they have various other things on the menu (which I haven't tried many of since I actually have a love affair with the wings and anything else would be cheating), all of which my friends have said are amazing as well! I would highly highly recommend giving this little place a stop if for some reason you are in WR, or live there, because while the food might not be that of one of the 300 pizzerias in the one mile radius, it can easily give them all a run for their money.

My husband and I were driving home to Buffalo from NYC, and were relying on our GPS to lead us to a place to eat in Hackensack. I had probably the best pulled pork sandwich ever...so good that I did not even bother adding barbecue sauce, and my husband had the chicken and ribs combo, also wonderful, and which came with enough rice and beans to feed a family of four. Portion sizes were enormous, food is authentic and delicious, and although this is not a fancy place in any sense of the word, the restaurant is clean and service is warm and friendly. We would definitely come here again on our way home to Buffalo, even if it's a little out of the way. We were so full leaving the place, we didn't eat for the rest of the day (and we came at 3pm).
