We found Wenzel's during a little mini day trip my husband and I were on. We arrived around lunch time on a Saturday. Their pork butt sandwich was on special and came highly recommended. It was amazing. Paired it off with some coleslaw for myself and potato salad for my husband. Added bonus was the wonderful cook provided us with samples of their polish sausage. After two bites I knew we had to buy some to take home! We also purchased their delicious smoked cheese. They also sell large ready to eat meals and while we were eating I saw a number of local folks coming in to grab them out of the freezer. This place is family owned and operated and they provide great food and service. Can't wait to visit again!

Wanted to check out some BBQ between Lampassas and Glen Rose and picked this little place to try a sandwich. Generous portion of sliced brisket on a bun. Smoky, tender, lean, juicy without being fatty, and a well balanced sauce in bottles at table to apply as/if needed. Super friendly folks with lots of local regulars around 11 am. Would definitely stop in again if in the area.

Don't let the looks deceive you. THIS PLACE IS GOOD! The menu is basic BBQ and what they have they do very well. While there a constant stream of "regulars" stopped for lunch or for "take out". Everything they purchased looked and smelled great. I purchased a beef sandwich and beans. The flavor was great for both.
