We had plenty of great food in Japan, but this was the hands down winner both in terms of service (which was discreet but incredibly attentive) and the flavour/texture of the food (awesome) ... with the added bonus of it being prepared in front of us.We located this place based on a recommendation by our hotel concierge - I don't believe we would have selected it otherwise. We arrived on time and were greeted by name (the concierge had booked for us), and seated in front of our chef. The seats themselves are individual but the left armrest on one, and the right on the other, have been removed to make it a bit more intimate when sitting down as a couple. A nice touch. There were only four people to a chef, so we got a lot of attention from the chef whom carefully paced the meal for both couples. The highlight of our meal being the Miyazaki beef - we opted for the sirloin cut and it was sensational: cooked to perfection, it was soft, juicy and incredibly tender ... it was a great way to conclude our holiday in Japan. That said, all the dishes were outstanding, from the starter through to dessert we thoroughly enjoyed the meal. Even the salad option that we selected was delicate and tasty. At the end of the meal we felt really full ... so the restaurant provides a generous amount of food with the option that we selected. As mentioned above, the service was exceptional - they carefully kept an eye on us and would be very quick to offer assistance: at one point we took pictures of each other ... the waitress noticed and offered to take a photo of us together. A real nice touch ... and that warmth was present every time we spoke with the staff. An outstanding restaurant that we'd go back here in a heartbeat - we just have to get back to Fukuoka!

This Korean style restaurant is the best for a wide selection of grilled meats. Especially the rare parts of the cow such as the tongue, diaphragm, intestines, etc., come in several varieties that all taste great. As custom in Korean restaurant the grills are build into the table so it is nice entertainment to cook yourself as well. The taste is a bit adapted to Japanese style, i.e. not very spicy, except for the Korean soup. Specially recommended is the horse meat, served sashimi style or slightly grilled. We liked very much the tartare version of this with the typical Korean egg. They have a very good selection of alcoholic drinks, the Chilean red wine (reserve) was fantastic for the price of 2500 yen. We also suggest the plum wine for desserts. The tables in the semi-separated rooms on the first floor are giving a nice feeling of intimacy. Don't forget to push the button for instantaneous service, otherwise you might be waiting for a while before they discover that you don't know the system.

Our hotel recommended this restaurant to us, and helped making reservation. We dined at the third floor teppanyaki table and the service was typically good. We were provided English and Chinese menu, and most staffs spoke passable English. We chose a 13,000 JPY set and there was a choice of loin and fillet for our beef, and they allowed us to split it among the six of us. They even served us that way. Both chefs were efficient and paid attention to details. The food was great including the seafood dish. I like the cooked vegetable salad. It was a good start to our Fukuoka/Kyushu trip

Come here for the wagyu. They specialize in local wagyu from Saga province, which is right next to Fukuoka in Northern Kyushu. While Saga wagyu was not as good as Matsuzaka or Tajima, it's still top quality A4-A5 beef with excellent marbling and exquisite beef taste. Not much English spoken here so just ask about the major categories of beef cuts. They also had pork and jidori chicken on the menu but we didn't bother with those. We ordered the wagyu set for 2-3 persons which was 3 pieces of 6 different wagyu cuts. We also ordered individual cuts of short rib and flank steak which were 5-6 pc portions. Make sure to order the shredded cabbage as a great palate cleaner and to soak up a little bit of the fattiness of some of the cuts. The cabbage was very crisp and fresh local produce. Kimchi is also a good choice for a palate cleanser as well. Jumbo lemon chu-hi and highballs washed everything down for a good price. Total price for 2 was about 8000 yen only. This shop is located about 7-10 minute walk from Hakata station. We went on a Tuesday and it was booked until 10pm, so get your reservations in early.

You can enjoy Teppanyaki served by a chef in front of you. This store has a seating capacity of eight persons. They serve Teppanyaki such as beef, pork, or small intestines of cattle, which are very delicious. Enjoy it with draft beer.
