The setting is informal and the staff is friendly. The presence of a big fireplace makes the environment warming and welcoming. The dishes are based on local tradition with a wide range of selections. I think the medium level food quality makes the price just little bit expensive.

We had a small lunch here and we very pleased with the service and the quality of the meal. We had a traditinal Faenza salsiccia, which was delicious. The restaurant was very busy over lunch, as it is apparently a local institution and has been for generations. Marianaza is located within a stone's throw from the main Piazza del Popolo, just around the corner from the Duomo. The restaurant is not expensive. If you're looking for local colour, this is it.

please make the effort and time to go eat at this fabulous restaurant. be prepared to try out a little italian but the staff do their very best to translate their menus. I can say easily hand on heart this is the best restaurant i have been to in my 49 years!!! seriously. the food OMG the Filet steak, never mind about the pasta, which is being made behind windows by the chef as you eat and order! fabulous wine the Albana grape which was suggested to me was fabulous, so dissapointed that i didnt get to go back to buy a few bottles ! it was that good we went three nights in a row and would have gone a fourth but being new years eve was an event night and not just a meal. the super bonus also is the price we have 6 meals and one bottle of wine, 2 cokes and 8 beers the bill only came to £144.00! and that included my Filet Steak

La Taverna Restaurante was about 1 km away from our rural B&B, near the renovated fortress on Oriolo hill. The staff was exceptionally friendly, there is a great view of vineyards, and the food seems to represent local, country, cuisine. The mixed salad was fresh, made even better by the Modena Balsamic vinegar and virgin olive oil; the mixed grill simple, the grilled vegetables very good, large portions, and all for a reasonable price. The cask wine was also good. You cannot expect an upscale meal with Michelin stars, but we enjoy sharing the local cooking with our hosts. This month dinner is served starting at 7:00 PM.Although this restaurant is about 10 km south of Faenza, it filled up after 8:30PM the night we were there.
