Iâm sorry I cannot give a good review. My fiancé had pulled pork and stated it was dry and tasted as though it had been microwaved. Being a southerner he is very familiar with pulled pork. I had the catfish filet which is one of my favorite fish. They advertise fresh every day and it tasted like it was however, unfortunately, it was overcooked. Potato salad, fried squash, and the baked beans were excellent. We arrived around 8:00 after driving all day. There were only two tables which were occupied so we were sure of getting good service. It was quite the opposite. Maybe this is why there were only two tables occupied on a Friday night.Dear Tinita,I received your review and am sorry you didn't enjoy the smoked pork and catfish. Those are two of our most popular items and we normally get rave reviews. All of our meats are smoked at the restaurant and we never microwave any of our foods, The catfish is only served fresh. I'll be sure to share your review with the crew to find out what happened. Again, my apologies!

Sonny's BBQ of Commerce. Southern BBQ at its finest. Slow-smoking favorites like pulled pork, ribs, brisket since 1968.
Been a fan of Sonnyâs for years now. Havenât had it since I got out of the military 10 years ago but was really excited when they opened one up close to where I live now. Finally got the chance to go. The waitress started out with weâre pretty much out of everything, understandable being 730 at a BBQ joint. From there we were basically ignored until our food was brought as we watched other tables get up and leave. About half way through the meal the drinks ran out so the food sat there getting cold until finally the waitress reappeared, and of course it took another 10 minutes to get said drinks there. I guess the waitress decided it was time for us to go bc she brought us a bill, which I thought meant it was time to go but apparently not to her. After another 10-15 minutes I was tired of waiting and had to go find her so we could go, found her in the kitchen playing in her phone. Itâs sad what the service industry has become...

This in my go-to BBQ spot! The smoked half chicken and chicken wings are wonderful. The brunswick stew is great! My in-laws will drive 20 minutes from Athens just to get the stew. Can't go wrong stopping here. Per most BBQ joints, they are only open Thur-Sat. Recently started excepting debit/credit cards which is a huge perk.
