We hope you enjoy our true southern style bar-b-que, prepared the old fashioned way since 1954. Our meat is slow cooked in a bar-b-que pit, using local pecan wood. We prepare our sauce, salads and beans fresh daily. Our homemade sourdough cobbler is a lit
Decor: One large, piney room, with lots of trophy heads and other, western-themed wall art. Wooden tables. Menu: Includes catfish, chicken choices, and possible to get BBQ turkey, but of course the emphasis is on the pig here.Service: Very warm and attentive.Quality: At our table we enjoyed the chop mix entree, and the St. Louis ribs. Two sides - in our case, smoked mac 'n cheese & coleslaw - are included. Ribs (4) were smoked well, but we would've appreciated more sauce and "fall off the bone" quality. Chop mix was OK; sides, too. Toasted Hawaiian rolls were also served. Best item of our meal was the stuffed avocado appetizer, as the smoky nature of the grilled avocado was truly unique, and nicely accompanied by the chop mix. Decent portions.Value: Good.

It was very rewarding be able to eat a good, fresh meal in a clean, family-owned restaurant. It is easy to split a meal here. Get the two or three meat specials, with two sides and divide it with your spouse. The ribs were very good and there is NO gluten in the barbecue sauce. Did I mention the waitresses were really nice?
Oh my goodness! First this place really surprised me. I am originally from the Midwest and moved to New Mexico and have been trying to find that ultimate BBQ place. I had to travel 600 miles in order to get some good BBQ. I got the 2 meat platter..Ribs and beef brisket. Let's just say moist and tender. The sides were awesome. My head B's had the pulled pork and brisket that he loved. We had a chance to talk to the owner's wife who gave us the history. She was so friendly and awesome. The daughter who took our order was just so kind. We tried to go back a couple more times but they were closed on Sunday and memorial day. We bought the sauce which was really good. No complaints and will visit again
