Returned here again and enjoyed our best meal over the 4 days . Tony and his staff are so friendly and helpful. He made excellent wine recommendations as we wanted to try something different. The food was superb and not rushed out like many of the other mountain restaurants. Definitely give it a go.

Lovely restaurant in Cervinia with a selection of fondues, raclettes and pierrades.
We absolutely had the best time at Bistrot Convivial! First, we arrived at this restaurant by accident, without a reservation. But the owner was so nice and accommodating, saying he could get us table in 30 minutes. We waited at the bar and had a glass of prosecco and we're treated to a pIate of of charcuterie. This place is a quaint, yet vibrant restaurant that specializes in raclette and fondue meals, although we saw a mushroom polenta that looked amazing! The owners are a delightfully friendly couple that are easy going and so hospitable. We had the Aosta Valley cheese fondue accompanied by a bottle of local red wine. It was very delicious and reasonably priced. We loved the local vibe of this place as well as the tourist crowd mixed in to the evening's dining. Highly recommended!

A really nice restaurant in the center of Cervinia. Nice tasty Italian and local dishes. Great staff and service minded. Pre-booking is recommended.

They habe a great sunny terrace and inside you will find a cosy fireplace. It is not fashionable / modern but rather traditionally styled. Fitting to the name if the Restaurant they played French chansons most of the time.Food was rather good, including a very sizable entrecote. However, the lousy service left us rather frustrated. Everything was focussed on one lady (maybe the owner) and the rest of the staff was apparently not allowed to communicate actively with us. This was NOT a language problem but simply bad organisation! 3 examples:(1) I found the terrace 3/4 empty, was greeted by two staff members but as I dared to touch a chair and called out to our group of 9, I was already told off rudely by the lady in charge! apparently you have to be seated, which none of the other staff had told me.(2) Orders could only be taken by herself, even if it meant that you had to wait for 10 minutes until you were allowed to order. Rest of the staff acted friendly but looked helpless. They tried to stay occupied by re-folding blankets or by strolling around the restaurant. (3) Payment was chaotic! We had to go inside to follow a discussion for 5 minutes how to produce the bill for our single table. As she did not listen to US, that we had more water, we gave a small tip.

I spent a week in Cervinia in March 2013 and ate at the Maquignaz Steakhouse twice. The food was excellent and the service very good. A special thanks to the head waiter Petr who was very friendly and gave good recommendations for what to order. The steaks were excellent, but please note that the scale of welldone-medium-raw is very "French", which means that even a medium steak has only barely visited the grill. This was perfect for me as I got the steak just like I wanted it.My son ate the choclate fondue for dessert and it came with nearly 1/2 kg of delicious fruits and berries (for only 8 eur). The prices were very reasonable: eg. steaks 20-27 eur, which is the same price range as in other clearly inferior restaurants. This was by far the best restaurant we visited in Cervinia!
