This restaurant will always have good custom for the simple reasons that sustain its success, quality meals, friendly and engaging personnel, fairs prices and an informal relaxed atmosphere. The chef and his staff are genuinely nice people who made every effort to help a non Italian speaker like myself to find my way around the menu and make good recommendations. There did not appear to be an6 reservations but it’s good to arrive early after opening due to its popularity with the locals and the hotel patrons who obviously are advised that it’s worth a visit. I would gladly visit this restaurant again.

Roadhouse Restaurant

This is not the first time I’ve eaten at a Roadhouse Grill. It’s a chain and the food isn’t stellar but they have a decent menu for kids and the bonus of a play area. Because we were in the area for Leolandia and hadn’t made a reservation for dinner (and it was a Saturday night) we ended up here because we knew the kids would be happy. I live in Italy so I’m used to being extra patient with waiters etc. but this restaurant took it to an extreme. The host took my husband’s first name and put us on the wait list but then called a completely different (last) name. He didn’t realize his mistake even though I had been standing in front of him the whole time. Things didn’t get better once we were seated. I swear that our server did everything she could to avoid eye contact with her tables (it wasn’t just our table, it was also all of those around us). At a table next to us, a child was brought a hotdog and fries but no ketchup or other sauces (we saw the parents trying to flag down the waiter for a good ten minutes). Our order was taken well after other tables that were seated after us (and yes, our menus were closed). When a salad was delivered to our table, no olive oil or vinegar was brought (followed by us vainly trying to flag down our server). When we ordered dessert, we first ordered ice cream for the kids and about five minutes later we decided to order dessert for ourselves as well. Our dessert ended up arriving well before the ice cream (how long does it take to scoop out two ice creams?). The only meal that was above mediocre was my husband’s tagliata. Everything else was either just average or subpar (my salad, especially). I would most definitely not eat here again nor recommend it to others unless you are in a pinch.
