The population of the town was 8,279 according to the 2011 Croatian census, including 1,473 in the titular settlement. Ninety percent of the population declared themselves Croats by ethnicity. The largest ethnic minority are the Serbs with 2.91% of the population. The old part of Bakar is situated on a hill overlooking the Bay of Bakar. "Bakar" is the Croatian word for copper.

If you want to eat a relly good balkan dinner you should come to Carraca! Delicious grilled meat, big portions and reasonable prices. We took Gurmanska plata, fries, kajmak, mixed salad (Å¡opska) and grilled bread (lepinja). The terrace was full so we had to wait a little bit longer than usual, but we had an excellent meal. They offer even pizzas, pasta, etc. but grilled meat is the best!
Reopened restaurant on Krimeja stadium offers barbecue specialities, pizzas made in wood owen, and daily menus with local specialities. Specific ambient and hospitality at fair prices.
Location is unique, because is located on a local stadium, We eat domestic pasta with mushrooms and grill, and it was good. Big portions and great hospitality. And sweets are great!Just don't expect michelin stars restaurant :)

Croatian Food Expirience
Like I wrote at title this is excellent restaurant with excellent food and staff.if you are a fan of steaks like me this is the right place to visit.Great choice of steaks,excellent prepared as wine too.This time we tried Wagyu steak,very rare to find in any restaurant.I just can say,perfect.One more time,above all expectations.

The best of Rijeka!I really donât know where to begin :-) which superlative to use first :-)This place have not so good historical reputation, with some ups and downs in the past...But now, it is run by enthusiasts and it really shows! Open kitchen, fine igredients, great atmosphere among staff... I was avoiding Placa 51 for long time after couple of disappointments i had during my last couple of visits during time it was ran by the former management. I heard rumors that the new guys here are bunch of enthusiasts, so i came here some 2 months ago, and had great time with some beautiful food here...I couldnât wait to come back again, and i was impressed even more.Unpretentious atmosphere, joyful staff, looking more like a shipyard syndicate members than a fine food restaurant staff - but donât be fooled, they are skilled but shy, funny and lous but pollite and unobtrusive - THEY KNOW BUSINESS - Antonio is like old school allround guy from some vintge Italian movie, charming and full of knwoledge. food was great as well, liver pate with home made pickles, and later striploin steak with grilled vegetables generously treated with REAL truffles... Last time i tried pumpkin soup and perfect mushroom risotto with barrique balsamico, and before writing a review i wanted to revisit the place to be sure of ita quality, and Placa 51 is now by far my number 1 choice in Rijeka.Since Nenad Kukurin closed his famous Tapas Bar (visit him at nearby Kukuriku Kastav!) and Conca dâOro lost its charm when Andrej Barbieri left, Rijeka was missing some really good bistro, and here it is :-)Finally

Nice atmosphere with interior made in stone, and also outdoor part with the parking. Barbecue was good, well made, although nothing extra special. The best part was actually the rice - one of the best I ate in my life (both clean rice and a version with the (just a bit) piquant sauce).

I should have read pickleickles review before going to Portic. The Cevapcici and Calamari which we had the first time was nice, but the second time we felt cheated. Fish was overpriced and our side dishes also disappointing. Stick to food with fixed prices to avoid disappointment.

Pizzas directly from the wood stove oven to your plate. More than 6 types of goulash with home made pastries. Great for romantic dinners or special occasions. C L O S E D - from 21st of August until November 2019
Thanks for great pizzas!! Food was very delicious! Service was great! Location is not that good, you gonna need an uber or to take a walk about 20min from city centre!!

Home made pasta, steaks and on occasion horse steaks on offer, including seasonal ingredients (i.e. asparagus or truffles) make the menu, in generous quantities.This place changes very little over time which is good. Ambient is really minimalistic and always quite packed with locals.Do not expect a Michelin or JRE contender but a meal that will fill the need.
