It was the best american bbq Iâve ever had! The brisket and the pulled pork were amazing and with so much flavor! They were not dry, like in some other places! The sides were also incredible and perfectly matched with meat...Everybody in the house were very helpful and prepared to explain the menu! Next time in LA and surroudings, Iâll probably go there once again.

The best part of Frisella's is that they took an ancient local historical building that was originally a supply/grocery store at the turn of last century and they are continuing to give it a function that the community enjoys. Food is good, a true Roastery, they cook the meat out back in huge roasters. Average sized portions. Price is fair. Alcohol available. Live music on Thursday nights. Nice ambiance. Service seems to be tag team style; one person takes your order, somebody else delivers the plate. I'd give them 3.5 stars, but overall I recommend them without hesitation.
Very friendly owner serving ample portions of tasty food all for a good price. Very enjoyable, I would go back for sure.
Dickeyâs Barbecue Pit, recently opened in Woodland Hills, was a monumental lunch experience. According to one of the managers, the signature pulled pork is slowly cooked for 10 hours, and it certainly represents itself well: tender, succulent, a hint of moisture, and tender, my, my. That meat was the best Iâve had in a long while. Complementing the pulled pork lunch Friday special were two sides of your choice: I sprung for the potato salad, a weakness of mine, and baked beans. Both were excellent. The baked beans had a smooth BBQ sauce that coddled the beans and made them slide right down. A self-serve large drink and a buttered roll topped the lunch special. The establishment is clean, but a bit cramped: there are only 6 tables and 4 booths inside the building, with a complement of 5 tables outside. I suspect theyâve planned on having a considerable takeout business: while I was there, over 80% of the orders were takeout. Dickeyâs offers three types of thick, brown, rich BBQ sauces: âoriginalâ, âsweetâ, and âspicyâ. All are excellent. The âsweetâ is not overdone, and the âspicyâ does tend to set your teeth. If I had to point a finger, Iâd say that the BBQ sauces are a bit on the âvinegaryâ side, not unlike most of the Southern BBQ sauces Iâve tasted in places like Huntsville and Dothan, Alabama. The vinegar taste appears as almost an afterbite, but with the âsweetâ, after a while, your mouth accommodates it, and one tends to overlook those vinegary overtones. All in all, it was an excellent experience, and one that I look forward to repeating.
