Reviews on Barbecue food in Annapolis, Maryland, United States. With more surviving 18th century buildings than any other city in the United States, visiting Annapolis is like stepping back in time to the days when the city was a colonial seaport. Known as America’s Sailing Capital, the city is located on the shores of the Chesapeake Bay and is a paradise for water lovers, famous for its crab cakes, lighthouses, and 500 miles of gorgeous shoreline. Tour the campus of the US Naval Academy, or the Maryland State House, the oldest state capitol still in use.

Red Hot & Blue Annapolis is a smokehouse style barbecue restaurant specializing in slow-smoked pulled pork, pulled chicken, award-winning ribs and signature bbq sauces, oh-so-tender beef brisket, and amazing chicken wings. Full Bar and Blues Music. Cuisin
Place wasn't full but we were seated far in the back and had a terrible time getting the servers attention several times. My husband ended up walking up to the server station for utensils. Ribs were very so-so ; definately not fall off the bone as we had hoped.

We were given a gift card to the Smokehouse, so thought we would take advantage of it for Valentine's Day dinner. We started with the nachos , which were not made with tortilla chips but potato chips. Tasty with lots of pulled chicken, which was very tender and moist. My husband had the French dip sandwich ( which is only served on Thursday ) served with homemade chips and he really liked his meal.. I had a craving for ribs and was very disappointed with them - they were dry, and tough and well over cooked.. I've had better . Even with bar- be- que sauce, it really didn't help. They were served with 2 sides of your choice - I had mashed spuds and collard greens. They were both very good - well seasoned, well prepared. For me , they saved the meal . Our waiter was great - Jeff . Helpful, attentive - our glasses were never empty and he came around frequently to check on us. I did not send the ribs back - which in retrospect, I should have . I generally don't send things back, so that was my fault . If I return, I would not order the ribs again. There were other items on the menu to choose from that looked more appealing ( Looking at the other tables and the meals served to them ) The restaurant appears to be staffed by all males, except for the bar tenders- which were female. Everyone we encountered were very friendly. .

Adam's Ribs chain location in Annapolis.
Our kids and our grandkids all love Adams. It is very relaxed, very kid friendly, reasonably priced and the food is really good. Lots of Bar-b-que and standard comfort food. It is not fine dining but it is certainly darn good fun dining. Highly recommended.
