We were recommended to eat here by local people, and that is surely a good recommendation! They are right - everyone seems to come here. It's therefore almost necessary to make a booking. The food is excellent, with the typical large portions and relative simplicity that characterise the cuisine in northern Portugal. The service was very good - despite the place being full and therefore with some obvious 'pressure point' moments. Cheerful and friendly, and delicious food and wine - what more can you want? Highly recommended, and it is good value. There's a menu in English and in French, so don't be afraid to ask.

On our annual trip to visit family we airways have a lunch here and are never disappointed. We usually have meat dishes but opted for the seafood platter today which was excellent, the chocolate mousse and coffee is also great. The service is fantastic and friendly and the prices are reasonable for the quality of food.

We dined here twice during our stay in the locality. We went with the 'bife de vitela' both nights and were delighted. The accompaniments were generous but average. We struck gold with our wine choice (red, southern Portugal) the first night but didn't love the wine on the second night (local red, possibly organic) which was almost fizzy. Relaxed local Portuguese experience was a little extreme....waiting 30 minutes for our bill. Pleasant dining experience. Muito Obrigado pela Vossa Avaliação
